I've been laying off testing a lot this morning. The past few days have been pretty pokey, and we took a nap.

I just got a +4 off her though and it's 219. Hopefully it'll gradually drop a little more. I'm planning on retesting at +6 to see where it is.

+ 6 is 232.

I'm considering a dosage bump to 1u tomorrow morning. Any objections?

No objections.....been on the .80 long enough and you are there to spot check her. Just remember that sometimes when you do an increase they may go up even more for a short while before they start to show the influence of the additional insulin. Then again, she may not, and she may dive down on you. Have enough test strips?

PMPS tonight is 293. Planning on a dosage bump to 1u tomorrow morning.

She seems to have a slight bump in the mid afternoon lately, probably due to eating tad bit. We shared a can of sardines today...she loved it, as usual.
 
Do you shoot into the scruff or do you shoot on the sides? Sometimes the side shooting gives better absorption. I can't shoot Mishka in the scruff. She was getting fatty pockets all over that area. Been shooting sides for several years now. Sardines are almost 0 carbs but still food.
 
I shoot in the sides. Tent the skin over the ribcage and inject at a slight angle downward.

Come to look at it, her curves have seemed to flatten out after I changed to the newest U100 syringes with the 5/16" 31g needles. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Could the needle be drawing a lower concentration of insulin? Is it not penetrating enough? Questions...
 
No... as to the needle drawing a lesser concentration. You roll the bottle and you draw but.....I use 1/2" needles......could never feel if that short needle was even in and Mishka has long fur. I used it on all of mine over the years.....tried the short and hated them.
 
I'm kind of feeling the same way about the short needles. I also think I'm going to go with a larger bore as well, for better feel.

+2 is 191 tonight. I'll post in the AM with the AMPS before I dose 1u.
