There is my sunny yellow preshot number again. Since my mom is on levemir I was able to talk her out of a couple partly used pens, so since I needed to start a new pen last night I am running a short test to see if she does as well or better on Lev. As I'm still thinking of switching her over to Lev because at least for now she appears to be a long term Diabetic.

Nice yellow morning :) I'm interested in seeing how Musette is on Lev...you said, "I am still thinking of switching her over to Lev because at least for now she appears to be a long term diabetic" - I would love to know why the switch would be beneficial in this case? I dont know much about the different insulins, so it's completely out of curiousity.

Well the real difference to me is that my mom is also diabetic and she is on Levemir, which means that in the long run if Lev works better for Musette that should I need an emergency supply of insulin given our crazy climate here (32 below in the winter & 100+ in the summer) I can always borrow a pen or two from my mom, until the weather allows for insulin to be shipped safely.

The biggest difference that I know of as far as cats go is that Lantus has an acidic base and can sting after awhile and especially on large doses, while Lev is a neutral base and thus doesn't sting.

Levemir also tends to have a longer duration and seems to pick a number and surf that number longer than Lantus does. So right it is both a personsal preference to switch her and as well as trying to find the insulin that is the best fit for her.

So far I like the looks of her curve much better on the Levemir and a beautiful pmps number at that!

Wow, that's a nice day! I like that there was no steepness to it, much flatter, which is nicer and, in my opinion, easier to work with. Keep up the great work Musette!
