Last night was 333. I'm really hoping this is a bounce. His hind legs are very wobbly today so I am not feeling good about this dose at all.

that's a bummer on his leg weakness. Are you giving him methyl b-12? it can make a huge difference in kitties. Most people order Zobaline for it.

Here's some info - i know nothing about the site except that they have a nice explanation about it:

http://www.ilifelink.com/zobaline-for_diabetic_cats-3_mg_x_60_tablets.html

He did get to 82 the night before last, so it wouldn't be unreasonable for this to be a bounce. If this dose is getting him into greens, that's pretty good.

Testing in 10 minutes. I just finished cleaning up pee from him peeing in a cardboard box. Dh is questioning whether that 82 was valid (he seems to think he didn't have enough blood but it was enough to not e13). Between the peeing and the legs I'm thinking it isn't enough.

The b12 came today from vitacost so he's gotten 1 dose in. I need to split it up next time though because it took some coaxing. He is bad enough with food that I can't afford to make him more finicky.

hard to say, but the 82 looks like it's reasonable in the context of a pmps of 153. it's not way out of bounds.

Also he was getting in the 60's with 0.25u more, so that also supports that the 82 seems reasonable.

I'd probably accept it at face value unless I had evidence to the contrary.

Going to do the 3.5 again tonight to see where this takes him.

These legs are just really making me sad and concerned. Will the b12 help quickly?

is it a methyl b-12? it's too bad it's gigantic. I bought the Zobaline for punkin and they were actually kinda tiny pills. If you need more when these are gone, you might try the Zobaline instead. Have you used pill pockets to coat the pills? Punkin got trained to eat the pill pockets (Duck & Pea for dogs are safe for diabetic cats) and i just had to throw the wrapped pills on the floor. it was awesome. I spent several weeks poking them (wrapped in pill pockets) down his throat until one day he woke up and said he wanted to taste that. From that point on, i just wrapped a little around them and threw the pills on the floor.

b12 can take a while. I have heard people say months, but i've also heard people say that it brought up cats back to their toes that were completely walking down on their hocks. it is hard to see them weak. I'm not sure what else to suggest.

They are little capsules that I opened up and mixed into the food. I read it in a thread on here in a panic on Monday and decided to try that first since it costs half the amount of the zobaline. He won't eat treats. But he will eat butter so I guess I could make that be plan b if he starts rejecting this. Dh does the brunt of the testing and injecting so I'm trying to make the b12 be my thing to take on.

And yes it is the methyl b12. I hope it works quickly. He went from a little awkward on the steps to really wobbly walking in the course of a day.

Hi Jenny, I don't generally make dose suggestions, but it does just look like Chianti's bouncing. This dose is getting him to greens. Getting insulin into him with the B12 will help with the neuropathy. In humans, nerve damage, particularly if it's been going on for a while, can take time to recover. You're doing everything you need to do to help support the recovery of those nerves. Hugs! I know it's tough to see them not feeling well, but you guys are doing a great job with Chianti!

With that 65 at +4.5, seems to validate the numbers in the 80s a couple nights ago. Can you get another test in an hour or so to see if he's going lower?
