Re: 2/24 Tinkerbell pmps 183 BOS & Scared

So little ol' blueautiful (good one, Dyana! :-D) has decided to test Mommie's BOS.

I win. I hope.

I have never shot this much insulin, 4.75u, into a cat that low b4, ever, and I am scared to death now. But I shot it. This would be her 6th dose on the 4.75u. She has this nice little blue surf going on. She's been so high, hitting those awful reds, what's a Mommie to do?

I will be home all night, all day tomorrow, I can keep an eye on her. Thank Heaven she did not do this on a work day.

Yet.

I will get a +1. And a +2. And a +3. And a...whatever I need to.

Keep an eye on us tonight, please.

Desi & Blueautiful Tinker-Blue-Bell

PS I wonder if this has anything to do with why that AC/DC (my favorite band!) song keeps playing over and over in my head? You know the one..."I've got big ....." ohmygod_smile

Re: 2/24 Tinkerbell pmps 183 BOS & Scared

Good luck!! I hope Tinkerbell surfs in some blue or better yet, green, for you!!
Ha Ha on the AC/DC song...

Re: 2/24 Tinkerbell pmps 183 BOS & Scared

Hey Desi,
Don't panic. Remember that there is a 20% variance in meter readings. Taking this into account, the 183 is essentially the same number as the 219 that you shot this morning. Also, it is virtually the same number as Tinkerbell's +9 (189). If you are worried that you shot a falling number, monitor carefully and be sure to get a +1 and a +2. I'm sure she will be fine.

Check back with you later,

Ella

Re: 2/24 Tinkerbell pmps 183 BOS & Scared

Good info from Ella. And, remember, as long as you have HC, a meter, and strips, YOU are in control of the cycle.

Re: 2/24 Tinkerbell pmps 183; +1/300 No Worries Panic Wasted

And here I was hoping to pull an all-nighter but all that panic was wasted.

Thanks for all the good info & support everyone, it always helps.

In fact I was down to just one can of HC and just this past Wednesday I bought 2 more cans for insurance. That's OK, they can stay on the shelf. Strips and meters, I have lots.

Of course her +1 shows a food spike and no doubt a bounce already too, so now we watch and see how fast it clears. It usually takes her a lot longer than Tawny, who usually clears them within a cycle. Tink's usually don't clear until at least the 2nd cycle, sometimes longer.

I'll get a +2 anyway tho also, then probably a +4 if she keeps rising.

And I still can't get that song out of my head! Now it's playing along with "I am in control of the cycle!" Just listen: "I've got big ....I'm in control of the cycle..." (well not anymore with that 300 @ +1 so why won't Angus...I mean Brian...Angus is one of my other cats (& guess who he's named after?) shut up? or was that one Bon Scott? It's not even their best song!) :?
