Great AM number today! 242!!

We're planning another curve day today, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully no furshot again!

Re: 2/24 Sabian (PZI .8u) CURVE DAY! AMPS-242

Wow, what a change since your Mom and Jasper left. Wonder if she'll charge down today or go nice and slow.

Yeah, the lack of stress in the house was really freaking her numbers out. She was in a constant state of growl/groan and dirty-looks...

Guess you'll see how storms happening today affect her bg too. Hopefully, though, it'll be a good bg day.

I'm at an absolute loss.

+2 is 243.

I'm pretty certain I didn't furshot today, so this doesn't make sense to me. She hasn't gotten into anything bad, no high-carb food. She ate well this morning and has been drinking water (not excessively though).

Could the needles be too small for the insulin (31g) or too short (5/16")? I'm tempted to shoot her again, but I know that would probably toss everything off.

This is even more frustrating than learning how to BG test.

:-x :-x :-x

Patience, Patrick. Remember marathon, not a sprint..... Your numbers this am are literally the same. You can still get a nice nadir. We wanted a softer curve and later nadir - maybe that is what you will get?

Re: 2/24 Sabian (PZI .8u) AMPS-242 +2-243

+3 is 210.

Maybe I'm just expecting her to dive hard like she has been doing in the past couple of weeks.

Maybe she'll get a later nadir and slow back up. Actually, seems to be working more like it should than those fast, hard dives she's been doing. I know you were used to deep dives but it really should be more like a slow dance than a jive.

Nice curve, so far, and you'd like to think you can increase a wee bit but.........today is just one day and I for one do not trust her. Give her several days of throwing numbers like today before thinking about increasing her. If she hadn't done all those fast dives, I wouldn't be concerned but she has. Great shot today also. Now, where is Suzi?

That is because you expect it to be consistently logical.

You are giving minute doses to a very small animal. I have diabetic friends who are continually having to adjust their dose because it is dependent on so many variables.

My favorite story is a friend who realized her blood sugar was way too low in the grocery store. She rushed over to the bulk candy bins and began stuffing candy into her mouth. A young stock boy came up to her and said, "Maam, we sell that by the pound..."

I'm certain she ate between these last two hours, but the only thing down is ice-cubed Friskies salmon and some old Friskies Turkey and Giblets from this morning.

Maybe just the act of eating bumps her BG? She did that on the 20th, when I tested 45 minutes after she ate.

most definitely food, even lo carb, will increase BG. that is one reason we try not to feed at least 4 hours before PS's. But I know you are doing a curve and I find that not reliable if feeding with it. I do not know what is right or what others do as my guys get fed Q12 hours. the fosters get fed AMPS,PMPS and +3 or 4 AFTER THE ps'S and that is it

I guess I'm getting conflicting information then -- small meals many times per day (lc free-feeding) vs. one meal every 12h, sometimes one in between.

When I've tried moving mine to the two meals a day (they were free-feeding dry 24x7), they all absolutely starve and aggressively feed when food is placed. The small meal routine seems to work a bit better, but I'm still having to adjust occasionally.

I'm going to pick up some of the low carb Innova or Wellness dry food and see if the civs take to that. Then, at least if Sabian sneaks it she won't be junk-feeding on Science Diet.

Same here, Dian......Hope and Mishka get fed a.m. and p.m. and what they haven't finished in time, too bad, it gets taken up. Wouldn't have to for Hope but Mishka would sneak in and eat it after her peak.
