That's a dose reduction, right? I usually try to manipulate the numbers with food, and if that doesn't work, I resort to honey (or syrup). I also check more frequently when I start to see lower numbers (and when I'm carb-manipulating them) just to ensure the food is doing its job. That said, @Bandit's Mom or @Angela & Cleo can tell you about when to carb manipulate and when not to (like, not to at the end of the cycle is what I've been told, because they are going up in response to the insulin's waning effect).
 
I just saw that you posted his +5.5 and +5.75 -- that's a good response to the food! He's surfing along nicely! Go Petey!

Thank you for the response! I appear to need reassurance when I am panicking a little bit. :nailbiting: Just don't know which way they are going to head!

And yes, I would like confirmation that I should reduce. I made the choice not to on 2/21 based on one reading... We just started to see some greens, I don't want to go backwards, but could this also mean his pancreas is coming back online?
 
Karo, syrup or honey I typically save for limes. I tend to stick to LC and lower end MC to manipulate the curve. A lot of what to use depends on where you are in the cycle (before or after nadir).

You have a reduction point of 80 so YES! Congratulations on the reduction. Your new dose is 2.5u starting tonight. Hold the 2.5 for 7 days/14 cycles unless he drops under 80 again.

Did you feed after the 82 at +3 today? Sometimes a tsp or two of the regular LC can help them surf the healing BG numbers.

Thank you. +3 was the only hour he did not get a snack. He got a snack at the +2 and then +4.5 82 so I was shocked at the +5.5 67! then it was snacks the rest of the afternoon. He responded well.

I'm going to be really bummed if we lose this green streak we worked so hard to get. :D :facepalm::(

This is exactly how I feel too, you're not alone! I hate how unpredictable it feels. Like are you going to continue plummeting or are you just gonna hang out here or go up soon? Wish we had a crystal ball for this. :rolleyes:
