Happy Sunday Funday LL,

K is doing just fine today. All 5 P's and BTB with us. Sending vines out to Gobbles and all others in need.

I took this video of Kismet yesterday (2nd of 2 videos in this series) where he plays fetch! Kizzy was never trained to do tricks, he just learned how to play fetch all on his own when he was a baby kitten. When DH and I first got together, he didn't believe me until he saw it with his own eyes. I had to go out of town for a wedding and asked if he would cat sit Kiz, who was just over 4 months old at the time.

Anyway, over their bonding weekend, Kismet brought DH his old favorite red mouse and dropped it on his feet. DH picked it up and threw it for him, not expecting anything beyond typical play, and was amazed when Kiz retrieved and returned it to him. They played fetch for about an hour, and DH left me the most adorable voicemail message ever about how my cat was brilliant and he was totally in love with him. Well, Kismet never came back to my old place, and when I came back, neither did I ;-) This is yet another example of how Kismet brought us all together. DH and I joke that the only reason he invited me to move in was so that Kiz wouldn't have to leave. :lol:

Kizzy plays fetch to this day, but it has to be on his terms. You can't just throw his toy and tell him to fetch it --- no, no, nooooo. He brings you his toy and tells you when to throw it. :lol: So while we never trained him, he has done an excellent job in training us. :lol: This is actually the first time I've ever been able to catch him in action on film. He gets camera shy and will often stop doing whatever he is doing as soon as I grab the camera, Now I just need to catch him on tape talking (he has conversations with us), his bedtime routine with DH (that's a whole story unto itself,) the way he plays hide and go seek, and finally, a video of him doing his famous high leaps and flips. But this video of him playing fetch will go into the annals of the history of the amazing Kismet Cat Extraordinaire for future generations to marvel at. ;-)

Hi Courtney. Glad Kismet is feeling well today and you have the 5 Ps. The videos are great. I've have never seen a cat play fetch....pretty darn amazing.

Hi Barb, John, and Dyana, thank you all for your visits! He's a little ham, isn't he? :-D He knows how to "turn up" the cute so that it's almost deafening.

I think he wore himself out yesterday with all the rounds of fetch (we had 2 more rounds after the videos) and all the grooming he did on his toys :lol: He played fetch for a total time of about 30 minutes yesterday. Before I even started recording the first video, he'd fetched about a dozen times. I love how when he's finished, he comes back empty handed (emptied mouthed?) and just stares at me LOL. The second video, when he stopped and sat on the floor, he went over to his fud bowl for an after play snack. Fetching can work up an appetite! He's lounging on his cat tree right now enjoying the sunshine. It's a stinking hot day today, in the 90's, so thank goodness we got the AC fixed :? Our weather is super weird lately. After this heat spell, we're expecting lows in the 50's early in the week. The pressure changes are likely to produce some nasty weather and nasty headaches... I always get bad headaches whenever there is an extreme pressure change ugh.

What a sweetie, that is so great that he does that:) I love the story of how he helped get you and your DH together :-D I can't even relate to the hot weather yet, glad you have your AC fixed! We still have piles of snow...blech. I hope you don't get a headache:( Have a great rest of your Sunday, looks like some green surfing is coming? :mrgreen:

Hi Rachel! I'd love to trade places with you... most people think I'm crazy for liking the cold, but I prefer cool to hot any day. ;-) Our story is so cheesey, :lol: but it's ours, and a little black cat named Kismet is the tie that binds us all together. <3

Hi Josie! Adorable AND smart... we hit the kitty jackpot with this one ;-)

Kismet had a case of the afternoon zoomies after lazing around all day. He's now batting around some toys in the hallway. His grab bag that came with the red mouse, also came with some balls, a green felt mouse, a black felt mouse, and some ropey/feathered mice that he has just discovered. :lol: It's like Christmas over here... he can't decide which toy to play with, so he's playing with them all. Now only if I could train him to put his toys away...

Looks like our lagoon time has come to an end, but it was a nice dip :-D

I think taking Allerplex out of his diet is helping keeping him lower, but I'd like to see him lower still. Thinking of trying another dosecrease soonish. We'll see how he goes, but what should the next dose be? So far, we've been tinkling around with .25 (shaving/fattening). Should we dosecrease, should we go up another 1/4 all the way to .5, or aim for a .4?

Those videos are so cute. Nice surf for Kismet today. :mrgreen: Courtney, I'm like you. I prefer the cold weather to the hot weather. Winter is my favorite season.

I agree with the clothing thing! I actually like cold better than hot too, I don't know how you guys manage in the hot places:) I die when it hits over 25C. I just wish the snow would stop falling so I can stop shovelling :lol:

Hi Rachel, We have lovely winters here. It stays in the 60s and 70s during the day and gets to the 40s-50s at night. It's really beautiful and temperate most of the time, but summers are unbearable. It's not the heat so much as it is the humidity. It gets much hotter in other places around the country, our hottest days are usually in the 90s.

Hi Liz! I'm biased, too :lol: Black cats are really special. I've never met one I don't like.

Looks like it's going to be a busy night! That +2 is actually +1.75.

OMG! I love those videos! He is so smart...I love how he wags his tail and patiently waits for you to throw it and then kinda jumps up. I laughed and laughed!
 
:-D Hi Marje, he's a clever, funny boy, isn't he? He's a clever, funny boy who wants to have a pj party. I just gave him his third mini meal so hopefully that will keep him afloat for awhile. I will stay up for the +4, and depending on where he is, I may need to abort this cycle with a spoonful of HC. I have an early morning tomorrow and can't stay up too late. :? I just threatened him with a dosecrease, too, so it looks like he read his condo!
 
The fetch is amazing. My cats chase anything, but when it stops moving they are usually done.

Kind of like Kis at the end of vid 2. Looking up like "that was fun, now throw another one!"

I'd guess it's rare in felines to bring it back on demand. :-D
 
I meant to check these out yesterday, but it slipped my mind....he is SOOOO cute! My Zen and Frankie also play fetch...kitties playing fetch is probably one of the cutest EVER!
