Good Morning, everyone. Today we are (barely) in yucky red...there are 3 small puke piles discovered upon getting up, 2 of which had fresh hairballs so I'm wondering if that contributed to the high number...

Other than the puke, there's not much going on. All Ps (except playing), purring kitty in testing spot when I got up. She may shortly be a little annoyed at the new +1.5 out the door test that we are starting today ;-) .

I've got to go get ready for work, hopefully it will be a better day than all the days last week! It's -30C out but that doesn't stop our clients! We're short a guy that I get to cover today too again, yay :roll: . Paws crossed I'll get to condos later :-D Happy Monday!

Come on down Chyna. Tarragon's BGs go up with a hair ball. I hope that was the reason for the pukies and the red/pink. Have a great day Rachel!

Ah Chyna.... red? seriously? I am glad to see that you have reconsidered residency on the red floor and are heading to the lower ones. Much more fun to be had there. Good girl! You have a good BG day, surf well for your bean.

bummer on the hairball puke. ugh, but NICE on that purring kitty in the testing spot. I always loved that about Mannie. he too would meet me first thing in the morning, in his spot, ready to go. It was always our bond time, one on one, loved it: lots of purrs and pets and head butts.

and -30C?????????????? and yet they still come, those clients.... Bummer on the man down, always makes for busy crazy days at TBP.

Hi guys .. yup, just barely red this morning and nicely coming down! Sorry to hear about the hairballs, I'm sure that had something to do with the higher numbers .. Try to stay warm today! Have a great day guys!

Yeah, I bet the hairball made Chyna's numbers go up. At least you won't have to worry about her while you're at work today....a bit of a silver lining, right? Have a great day, Rachel!

Thanks guys, sorry I have no time to respond right now to you all...I was a little worried about that drop at +1.5 which usually means "active" so I left out extra fuds...with a bit of HC mixed into the LC on a few of the mini meals in the autotimer. I guess active at high numbers probably meant she'd be fine...or the hairball was causing the PMPS...ugh. I feel like a dumb dumb :evil:

I hope I didn't screw our downward progress, I'm smacking myself now...I"m so not a morning person! ohmygod_smile

That is quite a drop, Chyna, good thing your bean left you lots of noms to try to slow things down. Time to practice your sliding skills, just like your gold medal curlers. :-D I hope the hairball-pukus episode is over and done.

Whenever Furball throws up a hairball, it causes her BG to go up. I'm sure Chyna is loving the extra fuds. Don't beat yourself up. It's better to be safe than sorry and she'll get back on track.

Glad you left out some fuds Rachel. I'm sure Chyna will be fine! I know how you feel on those early morning tests, but you'll get used to it.

Hope that if the hairball is what was causing the high numbers that now that it's gone, her numbers will start to look better too, but I'm sure the last thing you felt like doing first thing in the morning was cleaning up a mess! I guess it's better than finding it by stepping in it first though! The things we do for our sugarcats!

Now you can just keep those -30's up there! We have had enough winter down here!

You're an excellent mamabean so don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure Chyna appreciates the HC food mixed in with her usual gruel. :-D

Once our kitties do a cliff dive one time, it is impossible to not worry about it happening all the time!
Looks like Chyna was surfing high today - hoping she comes down some :-D

Thanks everyone...woopsies on the HC...guess it wasn't really needed :oops: . Or it was...who knows :? . She only ate half of the fuds all over the place and in the feeder, so at least she didn't pig out too harsh but it was still much more than her usual rations, no wonder she was purring and happy at lunch :lol:

Hi Melissa, I figured the hairball was helping that high BG, lol. I'm glad to know others see that with their furbabies too.
Thanks Michelle, yep it was actually -33C...supposed to be that cold all week overnight. Today is a high of -18C, woo hoo...it is so cute when they come to their testing spot. Expecially after all the yowling last week when we were doing so many pokies :lol:

Hi Chris (and China!) yes I was happy to SEE the hairballs instead of FEEL them, the way I ususally find them, blech. Chyna did like the extra fuds and HC, no shock there ;-)
Thanks Jane, the diving scares the wits out of me! If only I could find a work from home job that I could live off the wages :roll:

I appreciate you all validating my leaving HC out...it's so hard to know what to do sometimes in the morning rush and having to leave. Thanks! :YMHUG:

Ok, now you're talking about puking! Glad I wasn't eating when I read it! ;-) :lol: I usually find the hairballs by stepping in them :o - not a good way to wake up in the morning! :shock:

Glad Chyna stayed safe all day. I don't blame you for being a little paranoid. You've had a little too much excitement lately. Hopefully she'll slide down to the blues for your tonight and surf.

I'm still learning but I would have felt pretty comfortable leaving with a BG at 356. Sure it's a big drop but so much farther to go to be in danger. It's when I see the greens and need to leave that I get worried. I'm glad she didn't drop too much more. This disease is so crazy!! I can't predict anything and the more I read and look at other cats' ss, the more confused I get. I feel a little guilty being here in warm and sunny So. Cal. but we are expecting rain soon. Have a nice night.

Hey Chyna, whatya doin' way up there? Pink Mountain is so yesterday. Please show your momma some yellows soon and lots of blues too. As you gather more +1.5 data you'll get a better idea of what it means for the cycle. All part of learning. :YMHUG:

It has been my experience that bgs are high when a hairball is about to make an appearance, but that they then go down after the hairball is outta there. ECID.

Tricia, sorry :lol: we're trading off making eachother nauseated! I usually find the hairballs that way too, in the night, in the dark :shock: . I am a little extra paranoid with those 3 dives in two weeks that I had to work so hard to bring her up, and skip...

Hi Elise, I know it's confusing! Chyna has done 3 dives where I needed to feed HC/syrup in the past few weeks...she did a 284 point drop on Feb 8th in 5 hours and kept going down for a total of 308 points in 7.5 hours...and that was with me giving her high carb and some syrup every half hour after +5. So I'm a little cautious when she drops around +2 (or before) after her shot which indicates an "active" cycle :o . Especially when I go to work and won't be home for lunch till +7 nailbite_smile . I'm glad that someone is warm, we are definitely not :lol:

Hi Wendy, I'm not sure why she likes pink so much but I think it's my fault today with the HC :? . Hopefully the +1.5 tells me the same as a +2...working on getting those :-D

I don't think anyone would every fault you or another member for putting safety first.

I hope the hairball situation resolves. I hate stepping in cat puke :shock:

Yay! I see yellow! Maybe she'll like that color better than pink and want to wear it a little more often. Cinco is trying on green right now. I think it looks great on him, but we'll see how he feels about it after a couple more hours. ;-)

Glad to see Chyna decided to turn around and head in the right direction. Hope she has a smooth surf and you wake up to numbers you're comfortable with. :-D
