Good morning!
AMPS 167 shooting .75u. I think it may have been a skinny .75u
I seriously can't make any sense of these numbers he's giving me. I'm thinking dosecrease but will wait a couple of days; I don't need him going low today when both DH and I will be away for a while, and tomorrow is my daughter's bday dinner so again I don't need Boomer being low.

Boomer left quite a bit of his +6 and +9 last night but didn't call me (as far as I know anyway). At some point, he jumped up beside me and, when I didn't acknowledge him because I was sound asleep, he decided to give me a big kiss right on my nose.

Today is Allen's ultrasound. He has been pooping each day so I really hope the backed-up poop is gone or the ultrasound may be partially a waste of time/money. I'll be taking Allen to the ultrasound; normally both DH and I would go but we found out late yesterday afternoon that DH's brother has finally been called in for his triple by-pass surgery that he's been waiting for since December. So DH will go to the hospital to be with his DB and DSIL and I'll take Allen.

Glad to hear Allen is pooping regularly and hope the U/S gives you some answers. Lots of vines going to your DH's brother. Boomer, just a nice easy surf, today is not the day for any silliness.

Oh I feel so bad for Allen, poor thing hasn't eaten in 10.5 hours. :(
Boomer is "out of routine" today and sleeping in his living room bed instead of on the desk in the spare bedroom. Maybe he wants to keep an eye on his food in case I take it away since I took Allen's away?

Tons over vines coming from the west, for Allan's u/s and DH's brother's operation. :bighug: Give the bean a break Boomer, a little safe green would be nice. FWIW, the colon doesn't need to be 100% clean for the ultrasound. I have seen a few that have been done on my two that commented to that.

i would take food for after for Allen in the car... i hate having to fast them it feels so mean... prayers for Allen and DBIL... come on Boomer its time to find a different color buddy... hope your day is smooth Judy :bighug::bighug::bighug:

We're back, Dr Larry will have the ultrasound reports within a couple of hours but the Dr did let me know that there were no masses or tumours. :joyful::joyful::joyful:

And there's no news about DH's brother; he's still in surgery.

I thought of doing that but was afraid that he would throw it up. And we're only about 15 minutes from the vet.

Did vetty say anything about whether the bowels were thickened?
I didn't actually get to speak with the vet; she sent a message to me via the assistant "no masses or tumours found". Dr Larry will have the written results shortly if he doesn't already so I'm hoping to hear from him although I know he usually makes his calls in the evening. So I may have to put my patience pants on.
Oh......txt just coming through from Dr Larry......

Ultrasound results are in. Idiopathic hypercalcemia. In other words, a high calcium level which doesn't have a cause or at least one they can't find.

Treated with Fosomax.

Larry wants to run another ionized calcium first. I know DH isn't going to agree to this; we've now spent about $1000 to diagnose Allen because they said there was an 80% chance it was cancer and all we've really found so far is that he was very constipated.

Interesting - I'd be curious to see how the U/S figured into the diagnosis, unless they were just eliminating some other causes. Anyhow, sounds like something treatable. :)

So happy that they found no masses or tumors! :joyful::joyful::joyful: And spending money to get piece of mind is never wasted money.

...and now that everyone gets to eat and go back to their regular routine, let's head back down, Boomer.

I believe it just eliminated most cancers and I think kidney stones. I don't know whether IBD would cause increased calcium but (if it does) it's been eliminated.
I wonder if it's dietary. A few years ago my civvie Petey had elevated calcium...change in diet correct the problem. We never went through all of the tests Allen has had, though.

:bighug: for Allen's u/s results and prayers for your dbil's bypass surgery and recovery. What a day and am glad Boomer is pitching in with mellow numbers to help his bean get through the day:bighug:
Hope you can get a good sleep tonight, too. :bighug:

Checking in late, and very glad to hear that DBIL's surgery went well and that Allen doesn't have tumors or cancer.
Lots of hugs, vines, scritches for a good night for everyone.
Now, Boomer, you can relax and get back on track!

Checking in late here too but great that DBIL's surgery went well and WOO HOO on no tumors, masses or cancer for Allen!!

Hopefully you're in for a good night's sleep.....You've sure been through enough for one day!!

Sounds like you and DH have a lot to celebrate tonight. I agree that peace of mind is priceless. Men don't generally worry as much as women do, so DH may not agree, but we all think so.

Sending vines for a speedy recovery for DBIL. Bypass surgery is generally pretty routine nowadays, so there's lots to be hopeful about there.
