WCR: Most Ps in place. Got a few snuggles last night, but I think she's still irritated at me for all the sewing and busy work and very little lap cuddling time. She got sub-q fluids last night and I'm hoping that helps her with poo prezzies today.

My HVAC unit died Friday night...scared the bejesus out of me and Shasta. My land lady is bringing the worker guys here today or tomorrow. I get super paranoid when anyone is in my house and I'm not here. The front door doesn't shut right and so I insist upon them using the garage door and always making sure the door gets shut. She PROMISES me that she will be extra vigilant...though she did ask me to tell Shasta to be nice. I told her, but it's not going to do the trick.

I spent yesterday sewing rough edges to some of the sheets that I ripped up to make smaller blankets for the humane society. I probably got 5-6 sheets done (each sheet makes at least 4 smaller sections and one of the sheets was all sorts of weird and it didn't fold or cut right so I ended up getting 6 small sections out of it.) Just takes forever having to iron/press the hems and then sew and then iron/press the hems and then sew. If only I could teach Shasta how to sew...I'd do the ironing. :p

I came across a "garage" sale of sorts this weekend. It was being run by the Space Coast Feline Rescue. I ended up buying 4 small scratching posts and small round, carpeted perch...all for $10. I wish I had had more cash to give them. Originally, when I asked how much for each of the cat scratchers (they had about 10), the man in charge said he'd be willing to take $5 for all of them ($5 total). He just wanted them gone and they needed money and he didn't want to haul them to the animal shelter. The people were very nice and had several beautiful kitties with them. One was a beautiful Siamese male that I am going to talk to my student about (for his grandmother). But they had several that were black and one black/white. I'm a sucker for the black/black-n-white cats! :joyful: But my Shasta is an only child and therefore, I just look (and sometimes touch, but I wash my hands really good before I get home!) :p :joyful:

Happy Monday! Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Well, Shasta may be an "only," but you've got all those shelter critters who probably call you Santa. What a good thing you do for them.

I'm sorta laughing about the landlady and worker guys...Shasta, be a good girl. Mamabean needs the HVAC fixed. She doesn't want any notes saying "Couldn't fix, cat wouldn't let us."

My, your girl sure does have a wide-ranging reputation!

When we were in Germany several years ago, we saw a sign that said "Warning! Attack cat on Duty!". It was in German, of course! We had to have one. Sounds like you could use one, too, although you'd need to post a translation. :joyful:

Shasta, when you are flat yellow during the day, you are supposed to go down at night. Not up! Didn't you read the manual? Go back and study, please, and see what you can do to correct your mistake. :p

You are such a good person to go to all that trouble for the shelter animals. The world needs more like you! :bighug:

Hi Deborah,
It's great that you were able to get all those things for the shelter. And the sewing, too!! You are amazing.
Shasta, did you visit the grotto today?
Hope your HVAC unit got repaired without any problems.
Have a good evening. How's the weather down there?

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting us today. It's been "one of those days"...all day! I was running late this morning because I'm super exhausted. Got to school and the AC wasn't working. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? UGH! My landlady got the worker guys out here and they figured out what happened....Heater strip blew. They have ordered a new part and will have to come back to install. Apparently, Shasta behaved herself, but I don't think she's feeling good today. Her appy is off but at least she did poop today! Weather is really irritating down here. It was 40's-50's this past Thursday & Friday and now it's in the 70's and 80's. Rain is on its way which will help with the pollen counts. I have a concert this week and I'm worried that a few of my groups won't quite be ready. Oh well. Busy time of year...year round! :p Hope everyone had a nice Monday. I'm glad mine is almost over. Sleep well. Sorry I didn't get to condos tonight. :(
