Hi Folks:

Scooter continues to remain green and happy. He is climbing on posts and shelves and running thru rooms and up stairs chasing and being chased by other cats. I still haven't seen him in the litter box to see if the diarrhea is gone or not.

No matter what I read I still don't understand why this is happening to Scooter but I will take it. The other cats are slowly getting used to LC wet food but they would like it to be served 24/7. The words supper time gets the whole house running to the kitchen. I wish they made a long feeder so I could put the bowls down all at the same time. :-D

Thank you all for your kind words.

Linda

Re: 2/23 Scooter AMBG -94 (+96),

This is so wonderful for Scooter, and pretty awesome for you too!

I think Scooter might be a true testament to kibble crackheads. Once kitties are off of it, their health seems to improve ASAP!

I pray that these awesome BG numbers continue to flow for Scooter.

Re: 2/23 Scooter AMBG -94 (+96),

It makes me happy every day to log on and see your subject line. Scooter, you give us all hope! Keep up the good work!

Re: 2/23 Scooter AMBG -94 (+96),

Do you folks think that kibble caused his BG to go up and he is not diabetic?

I have friends asking me questions that I don't know the answers to.

Re: 2/23 Scooter AMBG -94 (+96),

Another beautiful start to the day!

While Scooter isn't telling exactly what has happened, there are probably a number of contributing factors. He was a kibble addict, he had bad teeth that got removed, and he had a seriously long streak in the low greens that might have helped his pancreas wake up. If Scooter continues to show he doesn't need insulin, he will still be a diabetic, but a diet controlled one.

Re: 2/23 Scooter AMBG -94 (+96),

yes to everything wendy said.

there have been cases - although i haven't personally seen one, just heard - where cats who've had a hypo event had their pancreas kick back on. i'm wondering if that low streak was enough to do it for Scooter.

whatever it is, just take it and enjoy! we're kinda wondering at what point we should say Scooter's on an OTJ trial - but those silly darned higher blips keep popping up. can you have a talk with him about those, please? ;-) usually we see kitties have the best success when they start an OTJ trial with a nearly solid green ss . . . but Scooter seems to have not read our playbook and is doing what he wants.

ps, are you talking about a cat trough?

this one is too big to post an image of, but here's an interesting idea: http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictures/projects/118401.jpg

Re: 2/23 Scooter AMBG -94 (+96),

Piling onto what Julie said, I remember one cat whose vet prescribed a starting dose of 10 units and no testing!  :o Fortunately the bean found FDMB. Take a look at Teronto's SS to see how that played out after the mega bounce settled down.

I love the bench! I just need one for 13! The only catch with the green one is dry kibble is out but I have a few outside feral kitties that I might do that for when I go on holiday.

So the other kitty with the 10U appears to be off the juice after that huge bounce. It's a wonder he didn't die.

Well today of course he is flat green so far just because I told him to stop blue lining and that hockey was over and Canada won!

Anyway I am going to just take it and keep it and see what he has to offer next.

Thank you for all the answers ladies! :-D

Go Scooter! Looking great  . I hope he keeps it up! That trench is awesome, I'm sure you could build one to hold bowls...can you tell I have a carpenter for a dad, I'm trying to build one in my head?

Have a great night :-D
