Good morning, everyone,

Nice green AMPS and with it, an ouchie fur shot! Rusty pulled away before I had finished shooting. So on we go. Maybe his shed needed to drain a little. We had a good night. Rusty is in his little bed by the radiator and maybe he'll come over for a schmooze in a little while.
Today is the end of the olympics and now life can get back to normal. I have eyestrain from too much TV! Last night at our film "club" we watched one of the bonus tracks on the Leni Riefenstahl "Olympia" DVD. It was a newsreel of the 1936 winter olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Wow, those skiers had to contend with deep SNOW. And no groomed trails (they were breaking trail in the actual events). And narrow trails through trees for the downhill, in which the skiers followed one another after only a few seconds, so lots of guys were on the course at the same time. And the bobsled was harrowing! It really made Sochi seem tame, all the more so when you realize that the olympic athletes in those days were all amateurs and had day jobs!

Wishing all a good day,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Wow, that 1936 newsreel sounds exciting. I haven't watched the Olympics yet. I guess by the time I get home from work at 8:00pm tonight, I will have missed my chance. Do they have Closing Ceremonies?

Maybe more insulin got in than you think. I would still get an early test, just in case.

I hope you have a good, snuggily day

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O)

What a nice start for Rusty! I love that 74. Bummer on the fur shot. Maybe some got in, and I will hope that the shed will carry him through. Right Rusty? And don't forget the bean Schmooze, 'K?

LOL, and yes on life getting back to normal after the Olympics. WOW on that newsreel form the 1936 Olympics. I love to go and watch thongs like that from the past. it really is so fun to see how things were then, vs what they have now. And ever so true on the fact that these guys were amateurs, had day jobs, etc. Times sure have changed!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well. How's the knee doing?

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Good morning Ella ~O)

Phooey on the fur shot. Hopefully enough is in and his depot takes over
You guys are always watching the most interesting sounding stuff in your 'club'. I never think to look for those kinds of documentaries and such, but will have to pick your brain someday for a wee list of goodies to view :-D
I am also curious on your knee and hoping it is on a steady mend!
Have a gorgeous day! :-D

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Bummer about the ouchie furshot....hopefully the depot will kick in. What a gorgeous AMPS, though! Have a great day, Ella!

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Rusty, you are looking good this morning  ! Can you stretch that depot to make up for the possible fur shot, and surf in the lagoon please?

I'm glad you enjoyed your shows, Ella, they sound interesting. I hope you get your schmooze soon ;-) Have a great Sunday! :-D

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Oh bummer on the fur shot. I bet he will be just fine with his depot. :-D

I always wonder if the athletes of today could pull off what their elders had to!

Closing ceremonies tonight are billed as better than opening. Either way it will be nice to get my evenings back!

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74 fur shot

Bummer about the fur shot. Maybe it was meant to be, with that low of an AMPS. Rusty, you surf for Mama today, okay - nice and smooth, around the lagoon.

Have a great day, Ella!

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74, fur shot? +5.5 66

Hi again,

It looks like it wasn't a fur shot after all, maybe just a partial fur shot; it was, however, a short shot because there was a drop left in the syringe that I didn't have the heart to shoot after the "ouchie". In any event, however much insulin got in doesn't seem to have impeded Rusty's surf. We'll see what happens today. It may indeed be time for a shave of his dose by a drop.

Sunny, mild weather today. I'm about to put on my super-duper knee brace and we are going to walk over to the ice palace. It will be knocked down soon because the liability insurance will run out at the end of the month.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74, fur shot? +5.5 66

Glad most of Rusty's shot made it it! Sorry for the ouchie - we beans feel it worse than the kitties :-D
I am also glad my life will now have less late night tv :-D The 1936 Olympia sounds very interesting. Think I will try to find it online - Thanks!!
Enjoy the ice palace - till next year?

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74, fur shot? +5.5 66

I wish we gave fur shots like that. Sorry about the ouchie. Hope your knee feels good during your walk and it continues to improve.
Liz

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74, fur shot? +5.5 66

It looks like most of the insulin got in. I hope Rusty keeps surfing. That news reel sounds interesting.

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74, fur shot? +5.5 66

Sorry about the ouchie shot, but it sure looks like Rusty got enough juice!

Yes, more repotting! I think it will go on forever!

Re: 2/23 Rusty AMPS 74, fur shot? +5.5 66, +8.5 76

I'm with Liz, I wish I gave fur shots like that. Maybe Rusty was telling you he wanted his dose to go down a drop.

That news reel does sound interesting. BTW, the Sochi sliding track is pretty tame compared the Whistler one too. Most of the Paralympic athletes have day jobs, so they are more like the real pioneers. Hope you had a good walk and the knee was safe with the brace on it.

Re: 2/23 Rusty PMPS 172

Hi again,
There's the bounce/reaction to the short and partial fur shot. Rusty had a good day soaking up the sunshine that was streaming through the windows. Edward was vacuuming this afternoon, cleaning up after our film party last night, and Rusty came right up to him. So Edward put the soft brush on, turned down the power, and gave Rusty a little vacuuming behind his ears. He loved it! Is our cat weird or what?

My knee felt much better after our walk. The ice palace is now closed and in the process of demolition. Lots of ice on the sidewalks, but we wore our Stabilicers Lite and had no problems. I also had a ski pole for added support. When we got home I did 30 minutes on the bike (set up on a trainer) and 10 minutes on the rowing machine. Then I iced my knee. Tonight it feels good and the swelling has gone down a lot. I hope I've turned a corner in my "rehab."

"Downton Abbey" tonight.

Hi Ella - LOVE the vacuum story. Rusty and Lola would get along just fine! that is too fun - go RUSTY! I am so glad your knee is doing better. That is wonderful news I would think that getting out and using it will help with the rehab. You will be back at it in no time. YAY!
