Morning. All P's in place and yes, the talking at about 12:30 am or kitty alarm clock! I did get up and test her and gave her a snack and then sneaked btd. I still did get up too early and am so sleepy! What I wouldn't give for a good night's sleep. Im wondering if my juice needs replaced, as Maggie's numbers are really flat. I need to wait at least a few days before I can afford to buy new juice. I'm having a terriblle time with bubbles, too. Maggie is feeling great, purring, playing and now sleeping on the footstool of my recliner all wrapped in her cuddly blanket.

Saying special kitty prayers for all those not doing so well.

don't you just love being awoken by sinning kitites, dragging yourself out of bed only for them to then curl up and go to sleep? Gotta love them!

Hope your juice has enough kick to last until you can get some more.

:( 174 bg at +3 - I had a feeling this was not going to be a good day, as bubbles in syringe - this is Bean's fault today! I am going to run out for a few while she's sleeping and will catch up later on condos!

Hi, Ann & Maggie.. how old is your juice? I replace mine about every 30 days, I know it lasts longer.. I tend to be a bit aggressive with not taking chances ;-)
As far as the bubbles go.. I had asked in Health & what REALLY helped us was this..
Draw a bit more insulin then you need
Tap the side of the syringe with a ballpoint pen (a bit forcefully)
Slowly turn the syringe to remove excess insulin down to the desired dose

I know others have ideas, I tried many suggestions.. but the ballpoint pen tap on the side of the syringe is what did away with the bubble, my fingernail tapping did not.

Good Luck!

Hi Nicole,
Thanks; I will try the ballpoint pen on the syringe. I've been using my fingernail. I use the vial Lantus insulin, and its less than two months old. Previously before she went into remission I was able to use it for three or four months. I will be getting a new bottle shortly.

Sure, sometimes I have to tap a few times (FYI)
Good Luck & let us know ;-)

Miss Maggie is looking a bit higher than normal, though at least the numbers aren't terrible when taking into account the AT. Hopefully she's back down into the healing range soon...maybe some new juice will do the trick!

What kind of syringe are you using. I am seriously loving the monojects. No bubbles at all now that I know how to draw it from the vial. Twisting as we draw (after moving the plunger up and down before inserting it into the vial), then I pull in a tiny bit of air if there is a bubble and twist the plunger again as I expel the air. The bubbles rarely stick to the plunger this way. The BD syringes were miserable for bubbles. I haven't had to tap the monojects at all to remove bubbles.

And thank you for keeping Chatty Kathy early last evening. I really really loved the sleep and needed it. You can send her back to Maverick if you want ohmygod_smile

 She's here every night of the week. I think I'll send her back to you this weekend! Last night I didn't stay up!

I use the Walgreens super thin syringes. I'm not familiar with the monojets - are they online? I use the vial insulin though, not the pens.
