Doodles 2/22 Dosecrease to 3.25 if Doodles continues to be stubborn. Maybe there will be a miracle today and he'll slide down :arghh:. We only dosed 3.25 a few times at the beginning of DX when we were under the vets advise using a sliding scaleo_O

Many vines and prayers for Kari & Mocha to find a way to heal and all those in need.

I screwed up again. Doodles is traumatized by the scary scale this morning and won't get out from underneath the bed now. If there was a chance for a decent slide it's gone now! Well, according to my scale he's 16.9lbs after a good poop. Last time I weighed him at home was on 1/10 and it was 16.75. At the vet on 1/25 he was 17.1 and of course they didn't record his weight on 2/8

With the variance in scales my concession is that his weight is stable.

He's not really interested in the YA, barley got him to eat the wet food this morning and had to hand feed YA. @ +4, barley at 1 oz FF, maybe a few pieces of YA. Gave him the rest of the FF with S&C and he ate it. Either he's really PO'd about the food change again or totally confused.

Bean - 0....Doodles 1, S&C as needed or pretty sure he'll go on strike all together. Also have a call into the Vet about his numbers. If she calls back it'll be interesting to see what she says.

Increased to 3.25. Vet had one of her techs call instead and I lost my "sh*t" as the vet wanted me to get a frutosomine test. :arghh: Poor vet tech will never be the same....so waiting for a call from the VET. If not, next call is to get all records (although I have them) and then to the managing director of VCA for a formal complaint. It'll just make me feel better o_O

Why would she want a fructosomine test? Besides being an income source
I find that vets don't know s*** about diabetes. This time around, I'm managing it myself with the expertise of people on this board :bighug::bighug::bighug: but when Boomer was first diagnosed my vet was consulting with his "expert" who told him that a cat cannot have a hypo on Lantus because it's a slow release insulin. I countered that it may be less likely than on a fast release insulin (is that the right terminology) but that, if a hypo happens on Lantus, it could result in dangerously low levels for several hours because of the slow release properties. Oh, and my vet told me that, other that at shot time, testing wasn't necessary. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

There is just no excuse for their ignorance. I intend to make a formal complaint but have to do the research on how to do it. Really tired of Vets, Doctors and pharma companies getting away with mega profits and disgusting levels of care. Ok, I'm done ranting :p
