Whoa, Chuck!! The 206 was fine, you didn't need to go quite this high! Will check in a couple of hours to see what the 0.1U does for him.

Re: 2/23 Chuck PMBG 427; 0.1U

ok, Chuck, let's go down a little more gently this time, ok?

You bought high carb wet food today, right? Just in case...

Re: 2/23 Chuck PMBG 427; 0.1U

Yep, picked up a couple cans of gravy-laden Fancy Feast. I'll test prior to my bedtime, which may be earlier than usual since I've been up since that heart-stopping 400 point drop this morning at 3:30. Another couple of hours, I'd guess.

He's very social tonight, wanting my attention. He has his head on my hand as I'm typing right now, purring his little head off and nearly falling asleep, I think. Don't think he slept much with those low, low numbers after being so high...

you might want to test sooner. If he has already started a free fall, you can intervene and slow him down with food. With Chuck, it probably wouldn't hurt to make a habit of getting a +2 or +3 whenever possible, for that very reason.

This looks to be a bit gentler than last night. I may try for one more test at about +4.

Re: 2/23 Chuck PMBG 427; 0.1U +2 395

sounds like a plan.

You remember how bounces work? We used to call it Liver Training School. He might be higher tonight because of his body's response to the low numbers last night. It has been a while since he last saw green. The bounce will clear out on its own, maybe in a few hours or maybe in a few days. My best guess would be that Chuck won't be one of the ones that takes days. He doesn't seem like he likes to wait around for things, he just wants to get right to business.

Boy, I'd be tickled pink, green, blue and any other color if he could go off insulin again. The vet feels that, since he doesn't have any weight to spare, he'll be on insulin the rest of his life. However, we didn't think he would survive the hypo event, we didn't think he'd become insulin sensitive (and still be sensitive 4 years later), and we never dreamed he'd be OTJ for 4 years and 9 months! So, if anyone can pull off a remission and head back to the falls, my money would be on Chuck.
;-)
I'll get that +4, then I'm crashing. This was supposed to be my "fun" day, and tomorrow my "cleaning" day, but they're kind of reversed -- I'd really like to get back to my sewing studio and get started on a quilt...

Coming down slowly -- good boy, Chuck! That's all for me, folks, we're off to bed. Hopefully, Chuck won't wake me at 3:30 with a very low number!!
