This pink amps was a surprise today. Chex was feeling so happy and energetic, racing to beat me from room to room, this morning. I was sure he had a blue, or at least yellow number.

He wasn't too hungry for first breffis. He probably ate a little of the overnite food, just before I got up, but it was LC and not enough to drive numbers up like that.
Now he got that 154 point drop from 1 to 2......so I guess that means black floor tonight :roll:

anybody know the carb count of the Elegant Medleys? I just gave him a bit of it to avoid another big drop to +3.

Guess Checkers wants to hang out with Rupert today... silly kitties. Hope it gets sorted soon. this rollercoaster sure is frustrating! It's amazing how one's mood is affected in the morning by that AMPS#!

Easy there Checkers. We want you to come down, but s l o w l y. Can you do that?

Good point Pip. We would probably be more effective beans if the AMPS didn't color our whole day. But that's not going to happen.

Pip and Linda, you're not kidding about those numbers affecting one's day. I should be used to it by now, but I still get down on myself, when I can't control his numbers.

Flat looks nice, for a change, even if it is yellow.. I hope this means no bouncing tonight.

The Elegant Medleys are from 9% to 11%, or very close to this. That's what I've been using with Champ when he gets into the 70's or 60's to keep him from dropping further. This is probably a good idea for Checkers if he's predictably dropping 100+ points at a certain time!! As Barney Fife would say, nip it in the bud!!

pmps 525 ...number would have been lower if I redid test...happens every night.

I don't get this. This is a new meter, so I don't think it's very far off.

How can it drop 140 points, testing only seconds later. I don't trust any of these numbers any more.
I have an order coming for my regular meter; meantime using brand new ReliOn,
but I don't think its the meter

How can Checkers be soaring to these levels..every single night??? he was flat today.

He isn't eating anything bad. He is active, playful, eats LC treats/snacks in the daytime.
Doesn't eat after +10.

I don't understand what is going on. :!:

To make it worse, I can't get my SS to work again. It hasn't been updated in days.

I hear ya! it's confusing isn't it! and that discrepancy in the meter reading freaks you out too doesn't it?!! fingers crossed we both get some interesting numbers/answers/clues/.. or just plain luck soon! We need to tell Checkers and Rupert to quit hanging out together so much! or if they must, make it a much nicer part of town!!!

Thank you Sienne. I haven't been getting much blood the last few days. I remember telling Checkers that there's no blood in his ears.
It may not be the case, but it gives me a bit of hope for tonight, so I can stop fretting for now.
It looks like he's coming down, but I know that's basically the same number and I know if I do it again I'll get a different number, so will wait for +2, and get a real good drop of blood.

Barb I use elegant medleys to bring Moonie up from lowish greens--Its like MC..Moonie comes up well from it--If you cant get blood, use the other side of the ear!! I do Moonie's tests on the inside of the ear(she has black ears), but it seems she gets tough skin on the inside from so much testing for so long--I tested the back of her ear near the edge & ut came a perfect drop of blood, each time I tried it!!
Hope Checks comes down, those are very wild numbers!!--I feel something aint right!! confused_cat

Thanks Roni. It didn't occur to me that the other side of the ear would be different. I know that one ear doesn't give blood very well, and I overuse the other. I usually get the same side, cause he turns his ear down, and wont let me straighten it. :lol:
 
I can't say that' a big drop, because I don't know if the other PM numbers were correct, or scewed from insufficient blood.
I'm just hanging onto that reasoning, 'cause I don't want to admit that he could have been so high. :roll:
this time I used the warm rice sock, and used the flip side of the ear, and got a nice drop of blood.
 
Hi Barb - so sorry for the blacks today. I now how you feel - been there with Mannie sometime ago. never did understand why... I hope checks decides never to go there again. Good that the +2 is down. Try not to worry, you really are doing a good job with him. :-D
