Trix had a small bounce for PMPS last night, but broke it quickly and settled into a nice high green/low blue surf right into this morning's AMPS. She's working the juice nicely this morning, and fortunately I'm off today so I can monitor.

Last night was a "moderate" night with Frankie. She settled early in the evening, but did have one intense round of scratching at about 3:00. It was another rare night that I was just too tired to get up (still trying to kick the tail end of this darned cold!), and she did quiet down on her own fairly quickly. So, the jury is still out on the treats. I think they MAY be helping at least a little bit, but since she does have SOME nights where she's not as wound up, I need a little more time to say that for sure. The second brand of treats I ordered hasn't shipped yet.

I've got all sorts of fun planned for the day...taxes, taping drywall (the ongoing basement project), housework. But I am home with the kitties, so it all sounds good to me.

Taxes and drywall still sound better than being at work. Nice green Trixie! Way to break that bounce. She looks like she likes this dose. Good news on Frankie other than that one small episode. I read a articles about why cats cry at night and thought of you. I need to try and find it.

I saw that article, Melissa...it really didn't tell me too much I didn't know, if it's the one I'm thinking of (it's been circulating on FaceBook the past couple days). I think it did say to NOT respond to this behavior at all, because it reinforces it. I somewhat agree with that, but at the same time, when she gets as upset as she does some nights, it's just too cruel and heartbreaking to not respond. Let's face it, no matter what, they just rule our worlds, and I personally am OK with that!

Yep, that's the one. It would be hard to do. Tarragon cries at night when Turnup has been mean to him like push him off the bed. I always go get him and he quiets right down. Turnup has been crying a lot at night but I think it is the Alzheimer's. I am just glad you are getting some sleep. I hope the treats are taking the edge off.

Seriously????? Talk about adding insult to injury...all the snow, ice, and wintry mix storms haven't been enough, so let's toss in some February thunderstorms with tornado watches....

Southern California is sounding more inviting by the second....

Nice surfing Trixie - at least mama doesn't have to worry about you. I've been following the Frankie episodes. My civie has idiopathic cystitis - probably stress as he's a nervous type - so I'm always watching for calming solutions. I haven't seen the calming treats in the store yet but have seen the other ones by Pet Naturals. Paws crossed the treat helps take the edge off.

The weather here has been the same -- brutal cold with even colder windchill, snow, ice, then yesterday, temps in the 50s and rail so there's flooding and in downstate Illinois, tornados. Mother Nature is clearly not amused with someone.

I'd also put a nightlight in the hall and see if that helps Frankie.

Beautiful #s for Miss Trixie, Amy. Please stay safe, and if at all possible stay online as much as possible so that we know you're here. I also understand if you can't be here due to power outage, or need to hightail it to someplace safe. You and the others are furst and foremost. Yes, I intentionally misspelled "first". :lol:

Whew! Tornadoes in February? Bleah! I am terrified of the things. It's one thing that keeps me from moving to the midwest. So CA isn't without it's challenges, though. They have droughts, hurricanes, mudslides, Santa Ana winds that bring nasty fires, and occasionally earthquakes. Not all sunshine and lollipops! ;-)

Hope Trixie keeps up that lovely surf for you and you are able to get your chores done without having to run for cover.

LOL...I'm actually calm about it...but I'm also just, I don't know, a little freaked out by the extremes in general. This is really, really unusual weather for us - all of it. It's a little unnerving.

The storms have started...the weather map doesn't look all that bad, but the watches and warnings are still posted.

A nice slide into PMPS for Trix!

The storms rolled through without incident...just some heavy rain. Of course now water is seeping into the basement :roll: ....that was inevitable. DH is on top of it with his shop vac. If it ain't one thing, it's another. BE GONE, WINTER!!!!!!

I missed this earlier, Sienne. We do have night lights both upstairs and downstairs, as well as a few dim "mood lights" that are on 24/7. She has poor eyesight because her corneas are scarred from a herpes infection she had when she was 3 weeks old (before we had her), so we thought maybe she was anxious in the dark, hence all the nightlights. Unfortunately, they really haven't made a difference for her.

Yay, Trixie is hanging in the lagoon! What a good girl, to work this dose :mrgreen: . The weather watch would make me go nailbite_smile . I'm glad it all went ok...except for the leaking :roll: .
