Good morning all, It is always nice when I can go back to bed after Sami's AM shot. I can get in another 2 hours of sleep on both Saturday and Sunday morning. But honestly, I think Sami can tell time. I have my alarm set for 5:15 am so that I can get up test, feed and then shot by 5:30 am, and for the past couple of days Sami has woken me up between 5:10 and 5:15, before my alarm. And on each of these days I allowed her to eat at +10 when I tested. Does anyone else have a cat that knows when it is time for a test or snack? I would imagine Sami isn't the only one, and I am sure it becomes routine.

Yesterday Recap:
AMPS : 191
+2 : 271
+5 : 314
+8 : 352
PMPS : 409
+2 : 404
+6 : 298
+10 : 309
Today:
AMPS : 288
+2 : 229
It took Sami awhile to come down last night and once she did she was pretty level from+6 to AMPS. So far she is showing some movement at +2 and I am hoping we get comfortably into the BLUE today and stay there.
I finally got a weight on her yesterday. She is back up to 14 pounds. The last we had her at the vet she was around 12.8, which was down from her previous 14-15 pounds. So I don't know if that is good or not. Sami is a big cat, but 14-15 might be a little too heavy. She has been eating well, but it is hard to tell if she is eating more than before. From November to January none of the cats were eating all that well because of Cody's illness and passing and even though I was putting 2-3 cans out at every meal 2x a day I was throwing more of it away than they were eating. What I am doing now is mixing the can with water and then putting the remaining amount back in the refrigerator and only spooning out ¼ - ⅓ can at a time. This way I am not throwing out food and even if the can stays in the refrigerator for a over 24 hours it is still good. I was concerned that Sami wouldn't like it cold, but she gobbles it up just as fast whether it is room temperature or straight out of the refrigerator. When I know I will be finishing off a can within 6 hours or so I do leave it on the counter to warm up. Does anyone know if it is bad to feed your cat cold food? Crystal, my other cat won't touch the food when it is straight out of the refrigerator.
