Good afternoon all,

Recent Mid-night BG tests reflected an unsteady insulin reaction. May be due to injection site selection.
Difficult to have a good location to inject especially when she had a full meal. Her abdomen bulged, make it difficult to find a loose skin to inject.
Most of the time, I choose the scruff and the shoulder location.
Last couple of days, she showed lack of energy. May be I should give her B12 injection sooner.

Has she been checked for dehydration? When my kitty needs fluids, it becomes harder to make a "tent" for the injection. He also get lethargic. Has she been drinking a lot? Peeing a lot? Do you add liquid to her food?

You also might want to try giving her a smaller meal at shot time, and more an hour or two later. A lot of us serve first and second breakfasts.

I was wondering about your B12 injection schedule. How often do you give her the B12 and who told you to give it when?

I'm just asking because I was giving J.D. B12 injections of 25 units every other week.

Tricia, I didn't check for dehydration. Can you tell me how? She is also lethargic recently. I do add water to her food.
I have timed feeder to give her food at +4 +6 & +9.

Dyana, The Vet told me to give her once every week for 1 month and then give her once a month.
However, I found her lethargic when I gave her once a month. Someone tell me it is no harm to give her once a week. Since B12 is water solvable, the excess will discharge thru urination.
So, I try to give her weekly.
