? 2/21 Coda Shooting PM shot late?

So most days I give Coda his Lantus shot 7:30am/7:30pm because those are the most consistent times during my week. However on Tues/Thurs for PM shot, I won't get home until 8:30pm (or sometimes as late as 10pm like today).I already gave him his shot 2.5 hours later then scheduled without thinking about it until now.. do I need to be careful about AM shot tomorrow? Should I skip/ lower/ increase/ or stay the same and shoot as normal even if his shots are late 2 times a week? Should I be worried tonight? For future, I will make my best effort to get home as early as possible (hopefully by 8:30), but what should I do about shooting late?

Right now Coda is new to insulin, high numbers with a low starting dose (not *too* worried about hypo but want to stay consistent in dosing amount and don't want a late shoot to be an OD in the AM next day, since Lantus lasts long, if I understand correctly)

Shooting more than 30 minutes early acts like an increase. I'd be concerned shooting two hours early . If my cat I would skip the p.m. shots or the a.m. in those days or maybe shoot one hour early in the mornings. See what others think.

As Elise said, shooting early will affect Coda like an increase in dose. Shooting late acts like a decrease. If you have to shoot late and don't want to skip the shot, you need to shoot the next dose (in your case, AM), twelve hours later. So if you shot at 10:00 tonight, you need to shoot at 10:00 tomorrow morning. You can move the shot times early by no more than 30 minutes a day or 15 minutes a shot, without any serious repercussions. So you could shoot at 9:30 tomorrow morning and tomorrow night, or at 9:45 tomorrow morning and 9:30 tomorrow night. I this doesn't work for you, skipping a shot may be your best option, but be aware than not shooting consistently can result in some very "wonky", and probably high numbers.

I skipped his shot this morning bc I can't shoot at 9:30/10 (dammit erratic class schedule!) I can tell from ns that he doesn't feel good at all
Thinking how best to do this next time if I could do 15 mins early twice a day or 30 mins early once a day..
If I changed his shoot time to 7:45am/pm, could I try
Mon 7:45am/pm
Tues 7:45am/ 8:30pm
Wed 8:00am(might be 7:55 bc need to leave..)/ 8:00pm
Thurs 8:00am/8:30pm
Fri 8:00am/pm
Sat 7:45am/pm
Sun 7:45am/pm

I think that will probably be fine. You may have to play it by ear, depending on what numbers Coda gives you, but that looks like a workable game plan. Now we just have to hope you don't get stuck at work late or Coda gives you a questionable number to through you off again!
