Okay...

I just did two cycles of curves- one yesterday and one today.
Both have this strange double bell shaped curve that cannot be only attributed to having a food spike. Any suggestions?

Oh i wish i was more experienced at helping understand all this. I'm sure someone will be along to help you out and give some advice. I just know from my experience that when you have inverse curves it means too much insulin. I'm sure someone more experienced will look at your SS and decide for sure. Also, i noticed that he tested positive (4.9) for Ketones on 2/18? I do the stick measurements, not the meter, so not sure how to compare that. Have you done another ketone check since then? Copper has not had the ketones at all, yet, but i know their are a lot of others on the board that have experience in this and can help out there too.

Your doing a great job at testing and getting the numbers on the SS. Keep up the good work!

Well, it kind of is an inverse curve, except you started at 400 in the morning. I’d like some other eyes on this, I am not sure, sorry to say.

It is confusing for me too, with the dip at the end. Let's see if Carl will take a look.

We do need to know about the ketone situation. I don't think we could advise any reduction with ketones present.

Ketones were down to 2.1 this morning, which is the one reason I was increasing these last few weeks was for the ketones. (A help- if there is a number I tested with the meter and if I use words to describe then I have used the sticks.) Sneakers might just be a cat who has ketones and they go no-where (HOPE).

But I do think I missed her dose between 2 and 2.25 as well. I will stop by W-M and get 100u syringes so I can start the micro dosing.

Her fasting at +8 last night was 197- nice- but fasting tested at +11 with 30. At shot time was 459.

Can't access the SS at work. Am I reading your post right....Sneakers was 30 at +11?

Do you give fluids? Is Sneakers eating good?

I would not reduce as long as you are seeing any ketones at all. On those two cycles that look odd, when did sneakers eat during those cycles? I am guessing that "30" was a typo? If not, then either tge 30 or the pmps was a bad reading. I don't see the BG zooming up that quick for no logical reason.
Does sneakers have any kind of infection going on?
Also, ketones and BG are not necessarily related. You can see ketones no matter what the BG is. Ketones can be due to not enough food, not enough insulin and infection or a combinatiin of these factors. For example "enough insulin" can become "not enough insulin" if some type of infection enters the equation". Ketones usually indicates there is something else going on that needs to be "fixed".

Sorry- the number at +11 was 370, not 30.

She is eating and drinking well- I'm calling her my little piglet as she has been eating more than normal lately. I am getting worried about constipation as I don't see much evidence of her pooping more (its been a less, actually- but she has been pooping.)

Carl (nice to have you drop by)-
Those days were home days for me so she usually grazes. She usually eats in the morning- 30 minutes before shot time, but the food is left out for her to nibble on. I did not noticed the food nibbled much on the 19th- only at poke time did she seem interested in eating- mainly because I would pick her up and test her by the food, and it wasn't a lot- maybe half an ounce at a time- but that was every hour so nothing but the +5 could be considered fasting. I did note on the sheet that she had some liver and a heart or other organ from an organic chicken I boiled for treats. That was about 10 minutes before her +7 test and WHOO-HOO it was high so that is why I didn't think much of it.

Since I was off on the 20th I figured I would do another curve without the extra treat of liver thrown in- and I got another push up at the same time as before which made me wonder about what was going on.
