Good Sunday Morning, Everyone,

Rusty is starting out in GREEN!! He had a good night (woke me up once with head butts, kisses, and squirms, but we both went back to sleep), ate his nighttime food, had a good test, good shot, and 2 sittings of breakfast. We played games: Big Bug, Scratcher, Cube, Red Ears, and "Rena's Octopus" (a toy my friend Rena gave Stu years ago. It wasn't Stu's style and he never played with it, but Rusty and Edward have discovered it and they play with it together: it's got 8 legs and a furry body. Actually, it might be a spider!). The Ps are accounted for and we are well into the day.
Cold here this morning: 2 degrees F., but the sun just came out. Our mountain club's monthly potluck supper is tonight and my pumpkin cake is already made (hope it's good; it's a new recipe). Edward and I will go out walking later, when it warms up a bit. The other project for today is getting tax data ready for the accountant (we have an appointment for the first week of March in NYC).

Everyone have a good day. Healing vines for our kitties who are not feeling well.

WHat an awesome start for Rusty and loving all that playing!!! Must make you feel better when he's playing this much. Keep it up Rusty *clapping*

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85

Awesome start to Rusty's day. Low numbers, lots of playtime with beans....What more could he ask for.

Have great day and enjoy the potluck.

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85

Awesome, sounds like a wonderful day for Rusty so far! See, I didn't think the lack of playfulness would last long. He's back to his old games again! Enjoy your meeting tonight- pumpkin cake sounds great. I hope it turned out nicely for you!

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85

NICE Rusty! You are green from the get go today. YAY! And busy - all that play. Could you come and show Mannie how that is done?

Enjoy the potluck - you'll have to update us on the cake - it sounds really good.

have fun with the tax stuff, I have to put the "finishing touches" on ours, been through it once, need to revisit, and make sure I didn't miss anything. Not fun!

Enjoy your walk today - I am headed out soon to do the same. It's abut 29 here, and sunny - beautiful morning to be out.

Journeyman Grill Specialist Rusty!! You ready??? Grab your grillin' stuff - we gots cookin' to do! I am on my way - see you soon! ~~ Chef Mannie

Beautiful start to the day for Rusty. Good numbers, toys and playtime with the people he loves. What kitty could ask for more.

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85, +5.5 49/52(!)

Hey Rusty, are you thinking about joining the diving club too? Or don't you want the beans to go out today? Come on up a little and get ready for the party.

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85, +5.5 49/52(!)

Hi again, I was surprised, to say the least, to see 49, re-tested and got 52, so I guess we are heading down the ladder. I fed Rusty a very little 9% Merrick Turducken mixed in with his 4% Wellness Turkey for lunch (he always gets a small lunch). He has been very active and playful this morning. We had 3 rather long play sessions and he "asked" for even more. Now, after lunch, he is sleeping in his cube (this is his normal "down time"). I'll get a couple more tests this afternoon before we leave for the potluck, probably a +8 and a +10 (we leave at +10 and won't be back until PMPS). If he drops any more (usually his afternoon numbers are quite stable with little movement) I may shave his dose back down to a "regular" 0.5 this evening.
I'm not sure how to interpret today's mid-cycle numbers. When Rusty lived with Phoebe he frequently had pre-shots in the 70s and 80s, but there are few data for any numbers other than pre-shots. My AMPS numbers have never been this low (89 on 2/18 and today's 85 are the lowest). (Also, I suspect that my meter (ReliOn Micro) may read generally higher than Phoebe's.)

So I guess we'll just see what happens this afternoon. I may ask for dose advice later!

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85, +5.5 49/52(!)

Hi Ella. I love reading Rusty's condo; it's always full of fun...and sometimes yummy stuff, like cake and bread. :-D
I hope you and Edward enjoy the potluck.

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85, +5.5 49/52(!), +8 57

Wow....that is a surprising number for Rusty!!! Looks like he surfed the 50s for a while today!

I'll pm you my mailing address for a slice of pumpkin cake    Hope you all got your walk in and enjoy your party tonight!

Let's go GrillMaster Rusty!!! Lots of good cooking to do today!!

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85, +5.5 49/52(!), +8 57, +10 73 Dose?

Hi again, We're off to the potluck. Rusty is up to 73 at +10. Depending on his PMPS, I may shave his dose to a normal, or even, a skinny 0.5. Advice or opinion is welcome!

Re: 2/20 Rusty AMPS 85, +5.5 49/52(!), +8 57, +10 73 Dose?

nice.

Normally we don't reduce a long-term diabetic for a 49. The guideline is to wait for them to go under 40 if long-term diabetic, under 50 if newer diabetic (but 49 is barely under 50, kwim?). You're home a lot and can test a bunch. It's up to you, though, he's your cat. I think Rusty is doing great and there is some pancreas healing going on in these numbers. All green all day is good for the pancreas.

Re: 2/20 Rusty PMPS 88

Thanks, Libby! I shot his regular dose (fat 0.50) this evening. I was just a bit startled today to see those numbers that were so much lower than usual. Of course, they were not that low in the scheme of things!

Potluck was the usual potluck. My cake was perfectly awful!! (it was more like pudding; I followed the directions to the letter; no more attempts at that particular cake!!) Fortunately there were so many people there no one knew it was mine! I should have crashed Morpheus's party and eaten some of Chef Mannie's food!

Everyone have a good evening. Off now to have some coffee to get the taste of the cake out of my mouth!!

Enjoy your evening - and that coffee. ~O) = :-D

Re: 2/20 Rusty PMPS 88

Another beautiful pre-shot for Rusty!!! Sorry about the cake... was it a pudding cake? My mom makes those... I just do the jello ones. :)
