Quick update on New Kitty (I have to do some work tonight so don't have a lot of time to spare) - so I picked him up from the vet and he was quite alert and never made one peep in the car on the way home (does this mean he is a good traveler, or just too stoned to care???). He had quite a day so I can only imagine what he must be thinking. When I brought him into the house I left him in his kitty carrier and let the dog sniff him and Kitty sniffed him right back without hissing or freaking out at all. So then poor Bodhi went back into his crate while I let Kitty out in my office and let him check things out. He sniffed around and immediately ran under the futon but when I got down on my hands and knees to look to see what he was doing he ran right out to me, jumped in my lap and purred (he is definitely not stoned). He immediately acted like he has lived here his whole life. So I got brave and let him out into the rest of my apartment (it's not THAT big) and let him check the place out. When I went to see what he was doing he was sitting in front of Bodhi's crate staring at him. So like a dummy I let the dog out just to see what would happen. Bodhi was so excited and wanted to play and immediately went right at him and the cat didn't flinch. Bodhi actually had the cat on his head like a crown while he was sniffing his tummy and the cat just gently popped him on both sides of his head but never backed down. He hissed at him a couple of times when Bodhi got a little too excited but they have gotten off to a great start. (Bodhi and Tiki never even got that close on purpose.) Right now Bodhi is laying on the floor behind me and the cat is right there next to him on the floor cuffing at him to play with him. Until I figure out what I am going to name him I've been calling him Little Man. (Leaning towards Biscuit as he hasn't stopped kneading with his paws since he got here). He is SOOOOOOOO beautiful. Regal like a panther and curls the end of his tail like a 'possom. Now he's sitting under my desk cuffing my feet.
Two other tidbits -
1. He tested negative for leukemia and FIV so that's awesome (even though to be safe they told me to retest in 6 months).
2. Tiki's ashes came in today.
So I brought them both home together (full circle???). Sigh....
