Not an official OTJ trial as he's been on 0.5 units since Tuesday PM, but he had no insulin this morning due to low initial number and poor eating (he ended up eating most of his breakfast but over 1.5 hours rather than the usual 0.5 hours we give him). If these numbers hold, we'll be going OTJ this week and doing some spot-testing and then a full curve as soon as we're able again (might not be able until 2/14 or 2/15). :)

So exciting that Sullivan is doing so amazing! great job!

When you start an OTJ trial is up to you - but: I have noticed that the typical advice is to go down to 0.25u, then to 0.1u, then a drop dose before attempting an OTJ in older to ensure a really strong remission for our kitties :) I’ve attached a picture of what some of those doses look like

no matter what you decide to do: Good luck!!

Thanks! It looks like we're not quite there yet for an OTJ trial, but those images are a great reference and will hopefully come in very handy soon!

The 0.5 unit depot is likely helping to keep numbers lower today. I agree with Amanda, the 0.25 unit dose is next. However, please get a preshot test before each and every shot. I don’t see any test data the last four days in the spreadsheet. As today showed, he can be low at shot time. Without testing, you don’t know if it’s safe to give insulin. We have seen cats hypo on small doses.

Just got 103. His dose is 0.5 units, he got up to 141 today without a morning shot, and he's currently chowing down on Hill's m/d dry. Shoot?

Hmmmm..... Looks like a half hour has gone by, can you test again to see if he's still moving down? There will be some food influence in play here, too, so we'll have to take that into account.

If you do shoot, I would recommend trying the 0.25U.
