2/2 Sootie's Tribe: groundhog day

Good morning friends and with vines of love and healing for all in need.

An inch or so of snow on Monday, a hunker-in day. I made my grandmother's danish soup (klar suppe med boller) and frikkadeller (danish meatballs).

My friend whose husband has been in home hospice care has taken a turn for the worse. Home care has been stepped up. He made it through the night but his time is nearing. Yesterday was his birthday. Have been bringing food and being broad shoulders. Their big fluffy black cat Bob continues to stay near David all the time.

Azalea is hanging. Her mouth ooze is lessening. HV changed her remedy. We've done the first course of clavamox and been including the entero probiotic that Carol @Carol & Murphy suggested and started the herbal Carla @carfurby is trying.
I'm not sure if it's any one of these or the combo, but there are some signs of improvement. Her appetite,tho improving, isn't what it should be. So have resumed including the more calorie dense foods that she'd nixed for awhile.
No word yet about the dental specialist referral. I gave Azalea a bath on Monday.

Spunky doing pretty well, eating well, no vomiting and polyp ear ooze minimal. Finished first course of ab and doing her remedies and the herbal mentioned above. All the cats seem to be doing well with the entero in their fud.

Dancer and Bella the inseparable duo. Sweet girls.

Recent couple of weeks been hunker in, back flaring, an intestinal bug and memories: my parents (my father's birthday was last week and my mother's is in a few days), and all our GA's. The 27th was a month since Sootie passed.

Wishing all a good day and that Mr. Groundhog will devine a sooner arrival of Springtime.

Oh Sina - sounds like you've had a lot to deal with - lots of nostalgia and bittersweet memories
I certainly hope your health issues are resolving
I would give the Entero as far apart from the antibiotic as possible
Murphy goes in for a dental on Tuesday, I hope by giving him the Entero, it will keep his gingivitis at bay for awhile

I hope the flower essences help Azalea. I think it is slowly making a difference for Furball's ear. As you know, it takes longer than allopathic meds to see a difference. I hope you hear about the dental referral soon. I'm glad Spunky is doing pretty well. I hope her ear continues to improve. I'm glad Dancer and Bella are doing well. Sending prayers for you and the Tribe.

So sorry about your friends DH. Heath is mecca and we are truly blessed with it.

@Carol & Murphy Thanks, Carol. Hope Murphy's dental next week yields good report! Looking forward to hearing about the results and crossing paws that the entero keeping gingivitis away.

Yes with the antibiotic: was doing the doses in between meals. Trying the ab as 1 week on, 3 weeks off. Then repeat. So she and Spunky are in the in-between time before next round.

Yes hope springs eternal in every possible way.


@carfurby Carla, thank you. I'm hoping to hear soon from my friend about best time to visit again today. Her line has been busy, which could be for any number of reasons but I hope it's not... you know.
I'm glad to hear that you think the remedy is showing some help with Furball's ear. Yes, the alternatives are slower than alliopathics but more gentle. How do you apply it for Furball?

Bobbie @Bobbie And Bubba I'm with you on your way of enjoying the Super Bowl (sorry, football fans!). The sliders sound good! How are you and Bubba? Still in the ? Hope so. And I hope to resume being more current in the forum.

The Sunday knitters at the shop usually do a pot luck on Super Bowl Sunday. So I better put my head together. Last year made a chili and added maple syrup sriricha seasoning. I felt like one of Hamlet's Witches adding a little of this and a little of that to the long-simmering pot.

Azalea's recurring mouth ooze is of as yet unconfirmed source. It started awhile after the 'brain events' she had a couple years ago and recovered from. Her gums get horribly inflamed. After the enucleation surgery and during her recovery it cleared up completely for a good few weeks then reemerged. HV thinks kidney and liver related but never quite resolve it with remedies, glandular supports or reg vet's meds.

Always something and feel like I never quite get my head above water. So it goes.. or as Carol reminded: hope springs eternal....

It's so wonderful to be surrounded by furry family members - their unconditional love is incredible. Unfortunately, that also brings a myriad of issues, especially as said critters age. When we had four or five, it seemed like someone was always on meds or being otherwise treated for something. Then, as time went on, they were all in treatment! Keeping it all straight and keeping your sanity can sure be taxing. I'm sure it doesn't help when your own body throws a spanner in the works, too.

I can't believe it's already more than a month since Sootie crossed.

Sending healing vines for all your babies in need of them. Please keep a few for yourself, too, along with some s. (Extra scritches for my favorite, little Azalea, too)

I dilute it in water and give it to her by mouth. On weekdays I am able to give it to her three times a day. On the weekend, I've been giving it to her four times a day.

love seeing Sooties Tribe always on the board... sounds like you need a big hug for this last month... memories can break our hearts as well as make us smile... sometimes does feel like there is just too many... cannot believe its been over a month since sweet Sootie crossed... prayers for little Azalea and Spunky... happy to hear Dancer and Bella are still finding happiness together... prayers you feel better soon... the sun will come again soon Sina

Hi, we are home. Azalea had fluids, recheck and b12 injection. Vetty thinks all mouth related and mouth not good. He gave me two predosed syringes of cerenia for Azalea to do st home. She's not vomiting but we're hoping it will help with probable nausea and hence improve appetite.
He did not hear back from the first dental vet he considered. Just as well.

So my vet is referring us to Tufts. Hoping to hear back today or by Monday (2 business days) re an asap appt.

HV coming here this afternoon so will see what he comes up with. Right now Azalea is eating fud on own
(Syringed and ate fresh liver shake earlier this morning...she's still a big fan of LS, sweet girl. In meantime continuing with the entero and other supplements.

HV came this afternoon and stayed with Azalea for quite awhile. tweaked homeopathics and changed standard process. Did reiki, azalea loves that with him.

Yes, Carol, the liver shake is a definite go to. Azalea goes for it, Bo liked it. The others....well, maybe they felt they didn't need it

Carla, thanks too for the tip on how you give the remedy.

Dear (((Sina))), I'm sorry to have missed your condo while we were in NYC. So much is going on in your home and we want to send lots of healing thoughts and vines to Azalea and Spunky and scritches for them and the rest of the tribe. And lots of feel-better vines for your back.
That's a great pic of Azalea and your DH.
Your grandma's Danish soup and meatballs were a great way to remember your parents. I'm sure the meal was delicious. Your parents and your grandma are smiling down on you, for sure.

Thank you, Ella, for scritches and all. NTW and I've been out of the loop too, though for reasons not as enjoyable as getting out of town for a change of pace.

Glad you liked the photo of Steve and Azalea. They are quite the buddies.
The danish soup came out well. I think my mother and grandmother would have approved. The one thing I can't make to taste the way my grandmother's was is her coffee, scrambled eggs and bacon. One time, while on way home from a colonoscopy, Steve asked what I'd like. In my twilight induced cheer, I craved for and said "MorMor's scrambled eggs and bacon!"

I haven't heard yet from Tufts about Azalea's appointment. Crossing paws to know tomorrow. In meantime, Azalea spent a lot of time yesterday on the living room radiator roost.

Thank you too for your prayers for our friend in hospice. Have been there more, had a good visit the other day. He was awake, in not much pain (or so he said) and in conversation his inimitable laid back humor shined through. All is day by day,moment by moment.
