2/2 Simon AMBG 241 - he is still running high

AMBG 241 - today did NOT give insulin after giving it for a few days and seeing nothing great
+4 151 without the juice
+6 137 - again no insulin

We will see what the rest of the day brings. If you look at the last couple of days with insulin, nothing great happened. We still had fair to middlin numbers so going with his pancreas.

Not sure why he is back up over 200 at the morning and sometimes evening readings but he is :YMSIGH:

Gonna see what the next few days brings and call the vet if nothing changes.

He is the same with or without insulin albeit small doses (.75 was as high as I was willing to give him with a somewhat working pancreas as I am afraid of a hypo situation)

Any ideas? WWYD???

I understand your hesitation but you don't want him above the renal threshold (250ish). I don't understand why he drops as low w/o insulin as he does with unless the little dose helped jump start his pancreas and it carried him through to the next cycle. Or if the insulin is no good. He has room to drop. As long as you can monitor, I think I'd give him a dose any time he is in the 200s.

Maybe the vet will find an issue with the dental or other infection. Could the insulin be bad?

The insulin is a fresh bottle that I opened right before he went into remission (end of November) so I don't think so? It has been kept refrigerated and has not been shaken that I know of...

I will give him a shot tonight if he is over 200 again. He has not gone over 250 yet thank goodness. Today was the highest reading he has gotten at 241 which made me cringe but I went with food/pancreas today and he is dropping a lot without the shot. I doubt it is from the insulin last night cause his pre shot number would not have been so high, right? UGH!
