Sarge seems better this morning but I think he was feeling that 470 last night. I really hate it when he hits red. I am going to do like Wendy suggested last night. If he doesn't hit green in this cycle we will go to 1.75U tonight.

I went back to the last bit of Sarge's old Lantus pen this morning since new one quit feeding. I don't know what it is with these things but this is my second bad one out of four. Sometimes the plunger just does not want to move. This time it started taking on air when it did it. The pharmacy was really nice about replacing the first one that acted up. Hopefully they will take care of this one too.

The roads are really quiet this morning. It's 13F and the schools are closed due to all the rain/slush we got yesterday freezing. We were able to slide around in our shoes on the street last night. I think I will let the morning work rush hour pass before I make my way to the lab. Happy Monday!

Sounds like a plan with the dosecrease tonight. Hope it helps bring down those numbers.

Odd on the pen. Good thing it wasn't the only one available for you.

It is odd. Pharmacy says it is the same box I had a wonky pen out if in the past too. I guess it was just a weird set.
 
Sounds like there may have been a problem at the plant

Might be worth calling Sanofi Aventis and seeing if maybe they'll replace them...especially if you paid full price for them
 
The local pharmacy (the only one willing to sell single pens as well) I use is awesome. They swapped it out at no cost to me and they will work with their rep. to get the pharmacy reimbursed. I am curious what happens in the next few months. Lantus supposedly goes off patent this month and there is a "biologically similar" drug that has done very well in clinical trials in the pipleline as well as a fight over generics. Maybe there will be a generic or an alternative with a better pen soon.
