Good Morning, Everyone, Happy Groundhog Day!
The groundhog is not going to see his shadow here in the Adirondack Mountains, so that means "spring is just around the corner". Well, I'm not so sure about that! It is +6 degrees and snowing, great weather for our village's Winter Carnival, which began last night with the crowning of the Ice King and Queen and continues through next weekend. Today's events include a woodsmen's competition by members of the Paul Smiths College Woodsmen's (and Woodswomen's) Team (chopping, sawing, axe throwing, etc.) and the Ladies' frying-pan toss. Fireworks tonight when the Ice Palace is lit. The big parade is next Saturday afternoon. There will be races (ski, snowshoe, foot), art exhibits, lots of music, church suppers, etc. The theme of this year's carnival is "Under the Sea". The LagoonMeister would like all kitties to get with the theme and come to the Green Lagoon to surf.
Rusty had a good night. He had come down from his fur shot nicely by the time we went to bed and this morning has a normal AMPS. We had a good shot (yay!). He ate the FF T&G portion of his breakfast (saving the Wellness Turkey for the second sitting) and is sleeping in his little bed by the radiator. This is good hibernation weather.
Wishing you all a good weekend and hoping that all sick kitties and beans will be feeling better soon,
Ella & Rusty
