just woke up and found him sitting in his box….. had made a pee, but laying down beside it.. idk how long for.. i dont think hes blocked in that instance then.. but idk.

any ideas???? i got told today the binder can cause constipation…. I skipped fluids today and accidentally forgot his second Miralax.. Could that be why?? :( :( :(

hes eating AND drinking tho.. i picked him up and tried wiping him off and he walked back to his spot.. he also got up to get a drink after i fed him, to see if he’d eat.. ate pretty well.

Idk whats going on.. 😖😫😖😫😫
 
in the past.. this usually meant he was blocked. but hes been peeing??? idk. :(

maybe got something going.. maybe thats why he missed the box earlier today.. hm.

sigh.
 
everything else is normal (eating ok, drinking, seen him grooming, he also got up again to get a drink.. got his PS meal.. and Cerenia.. yay.. now he sleeping.. his sugar tho is highish rn…. 😢😭😭 256…. could it be a bounce? ndw?.. dose not working? idk…. 🙁) guess im just going to monitor and if need to run him in..

otherwise, waiting for the primary to open.. maybe him missing the box yesterday was something else; not just leg weakness.. :(

i noticed at the nicer numbers he was feeling a little better too.. 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲…..
 
oh no.. he just gagged a little i think.. not great. :( he did that before ER last time…. Now sleeping. but at the time didnt have Mirataz.. Im trying to hold out/see so he can get some insulin… im hoping he’ll eat. if not, 1/2.. 🙁 one of the doctors open in 15-20 min.. primary is 9..

Oh I’m sorry it’s been a difficult morning. Sending prayers and vines.
I hope the vet has a suggestion.
It’s good you know what to look for with blocking (I’m not familiar with that whole can of worms)

staci… ughhh.. 😅😭💘… tysm.. me too. we gotta get in least for a pee test.. yeah! he got a history w that.. took him off kibbles and since off kibbles, it resolved.. 🫶🏼🫤
 
ohh nugget is eating.. eating well.. 🥺🥹🫶🏼 drinking good.. so got his insulin.

hes having a hard time tho moving around.. sitting in box could be this.. but idk. called around; vet will get back.. is in surgery and no appts.. got some other places too if necessary.. but we need a pee test least.. 🫤

hes resting on his heating pad.. its cold here!! 🥶 my house is a bit older and im nervous to turn on the heat.. never done it since been here 😅

nugget isnt good today.. but his numbers got us in the underworld. started the binder. plz keep him in your thoughts.. 💔🥺 (thing is.. he greened yesterday.. could these numbers be reflecting that? bounce? idk.. either way, because we saw green, do we keep the dose 5 days? or its still 3?)

::UPDATE cont::

ok back. so.. I called them to see if they could share w me all the things on the binder, cuz they make it. here's what I learned (just relaying again.. no expert here,plz feel free to call to verify..):

the binder may or may not be added to all foods depending on how bad levels are. where he's at (8.2.. las time..) I could skip a snack or two no biggie. but for some, its added to everything and anything (like +20 and higher..). I do not need to space out his meds with the binders at all.. I could w the antibiotic, but that's up to me. the binder can just be prepped w his snack/food.. and whatever else needs to be added can be after, snack + water, heated.. binder.. wait (if want) then add supplements/medicines. the binder only binds to phosphorus, nothing else. when it come to interactions, its only a problem because it reduces the acid in the stomach and this affects how some medicines are absorbed. the binder should also help his nausea and make him feel better by settling his stomach.. im hoping this might help the gurgles I hear from time to time... im to also start the full dose as suggested today, 1 tsp.. I heard Tany'as suggests 1/2 tsp but idk.. (doing 1/2 as the day is half gone..) as its important to get numbers down asap..

because I had to mention what he was on initially, to see on things, apparently, Ondansetron is the drug of choice w nausea because apparently Cerenia is poisonous and dangerous.... 🤡..... there's a whole story with the FDA rejecting it being used for ppl cause it wasn't safe, but they relented for pets.. Ondansetron is much safer and cheaper. shrug. Mirataz also isn't great.. he gave an alternative called Cyproheptadine (I believe, sp*).. that's better. Less side effects and also safer...... it can be compounded in transdermal form. (just relaying what was told... I am considering all of this. he said they have helped hundred thousands of patients over the years.. and hear many things..)

Bone broth is a no go because of calcium/phosphorus. Meat is ok. fluids at our amounts are really safe.. protein is important.

also.. nugget is semi ok I guess rn.. he went potty (pee) went ok! so maybe not blocked.. he's having trouble walking around tho. :( not sure whether to see vet or not.. or if an emergency.. idk. monitoring...

Are you treating him for arthritis? Indy has it. He gets fish oil, cosequin and a monthly solensia injection. It has made a big difference.
 
Yes, he's probably bouncing, been a while since he previously saw greens. Typically we hold doses that see green for 10 cycles but you know your cat best.

ty for this!!! right.. and i was just trying to remember we hold for 5 days right if greens show.. but wasn't certain. I was just going to ask, try looking for it.. thanks 💘😭 will hold.
