Day 2 post-diagnosis, day 2 of Lantus.
Wow, I wasn't expecting that great AMPS.

Since starting Lantus yesterday, and especially after getting 50 ml fluids in the evening, Lu's been markedly better. She got on the bed, with relaxed body posture, had increased appetite, and this morning ate 3/4 of a can of Fancy Feast. She's stronger and happier and more "here".

I'll have to closely watch what she does with her insulin today.
 
Nice amps. Remember with TR you need 2 tests minimum each cycle , the pretest and one other. I see only one last night. If you get a +2 and it’s lower than the first test, another test around +4-7 is a good idea as lantus insets around +2 for many cats. At night a before bed test is a good idea because then you know if you need to leave out food overnight.
 
Thanks Tiffmaxee! I remember from my last diabetic cat, but couldn't stay up that late last night. This is due to when we got Lantus from the pharmacy yesterday. I'm gradually moving Lu's shot time back in 15 minute increments so it works better with our sleep schedules. Thank you for the helpful reminders!

Today her +2 is higher than the AMPS because I gave her some cat treats a bit earlier. She loves them but it was a few too many!
 
I wonder what's going on with the PM +2 being higher than the PMPS. Apart from some treats 12 hours earlier, Lu has had nothing but low carb food all day. Is it a food sensitivity?
