Doodles 2/1 6th cycle since the FS today. Barely any poop since his gravy day...the boy needs to poop. I increased his miralax the last 1.5 days so if nothing good today I'll add a bit of lactulose. Certainly have a bit of ITF so an increase is coming but probably not until tomorrow..we'll see. I'm out this afternoon and maybe tonight for a few hours.

I noticed his breath was a little stinky yesterday. There are the redlines at his gum line and some tarter. Nothing we can do about it though :( He also needs a bath and a shave but trying to hold out for a few more weeks. Had my eye on a new cat tree yesterday. I found one that I like but the others were just not made well. Just trying to figure out how to sneak it in the house without DH noticing it taking up 1/2 of what's left of the living room :p:p

Surf safely kitties.

I hope Doodles heads down for you today. Sending poop vines. I hope if you get the cat tree, your DH is understanding. Sending prayers.

Will he eat food with pumpkin in it? Or yogurt
I did the pumpkin for a while (before miralax). Miralax works good/pretty consistently. I used the higher carb gravy with peas in there so that always causes a problem. On top of that his kidneys are starting to slow down so I need to probably permanently increase the miralax at this point. I add 2 tbsp. of water to his 6 wet food feedings a day and regardless of where his numbers are he's always drinking water (even when he's green).

How much miralax is he getting? I did okay with 1/8 t once and then twice a day for a long time but then went up to 1/4 t. Vines. :bighug:

How much miralax is he getting
He's been getting 1/4 tsp twice a day forever. Have to remember though he doesn't ever finish all his wet food so it varies on how much he actually gets. Yesterday I added a mid day 1/8 tsp and he just finally had a good poop. He hasn't been eating his wet food that great since the gravy day and remember he has IBD with constipation. Now that he pooped I'll give him the 8 cycles before increasing to see if he can do anything decent on this dose. He's happy this morning now after pooping, watching the birds :)

That all sounds good. He's a large cat. I used to put it in a small amount of baby food food so hopefully he would get it all each time and then feed his regular food.

BTW the kittens are doing well. They still sneeze daily but I had a quick conversation with my vet and he said its nothing BG to worry about. They are very curious and haven't been let out of my bedroom and bathroom yet. They chew on everything and I'm afraid will scratch too. They gave stairs and a small condo to attack in my bedroom. I want to let them in my den but I got a leather sofa about a year ago because Max wasn't getting on furniture or staying in that room any more. I never thought about the future at that time. Chai has run in there a few times and immediately goes behind it. It's hard to move as it's a recliner to get her out. When I need to get one out from under the bed it takes a long time because I'm crawling on my belly and they are quick to run out the other side.

Sorry for the long answer to yesterday's question.

That's adorable! I got a laugh imagining you on the belly trying to catch those quicksters as they run to the other side! Understand about he sofa/ furniture worry :( Doodles has always been good but Moo has managed to pretty much destroy everything. Feel free to post some pictures!

LOL!!! We think so much alike! I'd act like it had always been there, or look what a great deal I got and Doodles really needs it:p. I do the same thing with my DH. I always refer back to the look what you just bought:p:p:p works every time;)

Yay for poop! Can't wait to see the new tree, too. We are way over due, but med costs override new trees right now....

We are way over due, but med costs override new trees right now
Doodles has been costing almost $1000 (food & meds) a month for a while now, not including the vet/cardio visits :( My life savings has been paying for his precious bought time and that's fine with me, no one to leave the money to anyway. :p:p

For what the cat trees cost you'd think they would be made a bit better though so I'm being picky about it.

my DH is a welder and built a cat tree for his man cave... so my trees are built really solid lol.. course they have some weight to them too when it comes to moving them so hard to sneak them in... happy to hear Doodles finally got gravy out... hope he finds the blues at least soon for you.. have a great night Karen:bighug::bighug:
