AMPS 131 :eek: shooting .75u
sigh
Boomer ate most of his +3, left some of his +6, and left about 1/3 of his +9 snack. So I'm blaming the horrible AMPS on his not eating his full snack.

Lots on the to-do list today including starting an exercise program :blackeye:

Yesterday DH and I took advantage of the sunny weather to go to the park where the Bald Eagles hang out. We didn't see any yet again :( and other than a couple of downy woodpeckers and a small number of chickadees/nuthatches we didn't see too much at all. Nothing that we don't see on a regular basis in our own backyard :rolleyes:
So I suggested a walk in another local park which also runs by the river. Last year there was a horned owl nest in the park and there were 2 babies. We never did see the adults. So we took a walk to the site of the nest and sure enough mama Horned Owl is sitting on eggs. The nest is pretty high up and they've built it in a hollowed out trunk so you can't actually see the nest. And much of her was hidden. I was so hoping that she would stretch up or that Mr Owl would fly into the nest but of course that didn't happen. Anyways I was pretty happy to see them nesting there and will be back frequently with the hopes of getting a better shot. Attached is the shot I got yesterday.

Okay, Boomer, what's with the blue? And have you been talking with Bubba again? Judy, did you start the new pen a few cycles ago?

No I didn't start new insulin; his levels came down as I was thinking about it. :rolleyes:
 
I hope Boomer's AMPS is just from him not eating as much last night. Eat your fuds Boomer. Good luck with the exercise program. I love the picture of the owl. Sending prayers for Allen.

Happy to see that green. At AMPS Boomer was quite agitated....he was really hungry because he had left some of his +9 snack. So I think (hope) either his agitation or not enough food at +9 caused the higher AMPS.
 
X-rays done.
When Dr Larry had called them chest X-rays it really confused me but they were as expected.....the chest and abdomen. No masses or anything to be concerned about except a massive amount of poop. So we now have two stool softeners to give Allen, Lactulose and Cisipride. And I suggested that we wait to book the ultrasound until we think Allen has pooped sufficiently.

We had to pick up the cisapride at a different vet since ours didn't have any and the receptionist there was telling me that they use pysllium fibre on their cats foods to make them poop.
 
Thank goodness for clean X-rays. That is kind of what I was expecting/hoping for. :) They typically want kitty to fast the night before ultrasound. Sending poopy vines for Allen.

Yes I was assuming it would be a 12 hour fast. I hate doing that to a kitty.....but it is what it is.
 
IMG_6140.JPG IMG_6146.JPG your owl picture totally reminded me... this past summer a little yellow finch built a nest in my moms raspberry patch... i was able to get a couple pictures... nothing even close to what you take... but you can see the mama sitting on the nest... there were three little babies under her

Come on Boomer eat your fuds little dude... your body needs them..

And Allen... finally had the poop you must feel better... hope you continue to move your fuds... hoping the vets figure out soon that if it is lymphoma where it is so you can start treating

Oh I love those wee yellow finches! I'm never lucky enough to have a nest of anything in my yard!
The workout was good....fun....looking forward to doing it tomorrow and being a bit more coordinated maybe!
