hello, all!

happy wednesday!

binks is having a nice day...we just got our new box of BD syringes, and we'll be starting a new solostar pen tonight (an hour late, things have been hectic)

he had a really good trial visit to the nursing home...with one minor incident.
he was distracted by all the lovies he was getting, and i didn't realize that they had neglected to lock up Bernadette...the resident parakeet. She apparently didnt appreciate sharing her people, climbed up behind him on this lady's lap...and nipped his butt. he was less than amused.

I don't plan on making these visits regular until he's well-regulated (or better!)...but he surely enjoyed his outing!

The una-mommer has been having a miserable time with her shingles, so i've been spending my time between the two houses.
this is one time i'm really glad she just lives up the street :).

Poor Binks! How annoying! How did the residents react to this "clash" of the helpers?? Anyway, the boy has some good numbers today.

Hope the una-mommer is doing better this evening. I gather that with shingles you just have to wait it out. A friend of ours just got over it--it lasted about 3 weeks. He was pretty miserable, too.

Only Celi and Binks could come up with a parrot bite on his first day back on the job.

awww, poor Binks getting his bump pecked. I bet that really did annoy him, lol

Awww, poor Binks....bad birdie. (hehehe)

Sorry for giggling, Celi, but as a bird owner, I know how nasty and adorable they can be, when jealous.

Oh my gosh :o a butt biting bird! Now that's funny. (I know Binks didn't think so) Quite territorial I'd say!
And Binks just being so sweet. So sorry! (so sorry to be laughing so hard) - can't imagine! hope it doesn't deter him from being the ambassador of comfort he seems to be and so enjoys.

Hope your mom starts feeling better soon. Shingles sounds like misery.

rotflmao...i have to tell you...i could hardly contain my laughter when he got nipped...she nipped and ran...but only a couple of inches...and then stood there shaking herself and telling him off.

he has a healthy respect for her now! and so do i...she is a really friendly little addition to the Haven...and potty-trained!
i had a cockatoo...and it took me 2 years to potty-train her.

plenty of folks for them to share, though..and since his numbers stayed consistent and he truly had fun...i'd like to let him get back into that groove again...
i'd detest being anywhere that i couldn't have furkids!

Hope your Mom feels better soon and I bet Binks is plotting his revenge strategy already a biting bird LOL

What a wonderful kitty Binks is. Gabby would be under a sofa. Gizmo, on the other hand would visit on his own terms. No lap stuff -- at least he's becoming more lap friendly. Somehow, though, I suspect it tickled your sense of irony for Binks to have his butt bitten.

nice day for Binks - despite the butt incident. I am glad that it worked out, and that he can go back. Such a comfort to some of those folks I am sure.

I didn't know Binks was a pet therapy cat in the making! I work in geriatrics and we always have tons of therapy dogs visit our group, but only one cat has been to visit. It takes a special cat to not be afraid in a nursing home and I guess Binks is that special cat! I have wanted to bring my cats to work but they would simply freak out.

Binks is so awesome! Laughing so hard at the thought of a bird nipping! Willie is afraid of birds... to the point that I've seen them actually gang up and mock him!

Glad you had a successful outing! Hope you guys continue to move downward with the numbers!!

oh, lisa...too funny on the pic!!

he is such a quirky boy...loves mice, fears birds...likes to facilitate healing and happiness...but given his flamboyant buddy-manx Homie (GA)...
i'm not surprised he had to carve out his own special niche!

we did see something really promising on his visit though...one lady called him by the name of her cat...and they say she's been unresponsive to the other animal visitors...
what could be more healing than the touch of an animal??

and nobody was rude about sharing him...sometimes it's heartbreaking when they don't want to let him go...
