Nova's feeling ok.. I think she's sort of worn out from her INSANITY last night... so is her human.. man was she crazy and hyper..
Jill you are a psychic.... I'm curious if your powers extend to humans as well.. wouldn't mind some future lottery ticket numbers
This probably belongs in general health.. but it's scary over there.. most people just tell you to search and I've done that!
Have been doing lots of reading around these parts on dental stuff.. called the vet hospital to ask more questions.. spoke with the dental specialist technician.
Everything checks out with all of the dr lisa posts.. including the more recent thoughts on antibiotics.. the only difference was painkillers.. buprenex isn't approved for usage in Canada yet.. they said they've heard really good stuff about it and know it's used a lot in the US.. but unless I found some on the black market (which they aren't against.. I just don't have time), it's not an option.. their suggestion was tramidol(sp?).. she said that the downside is it can make them quite drowsy.. but she feels it's the best option available.. going to do some reading about it..
She assured me that they've done dentals on tons of diabetic cats (she said what we know here.. often dental problems and diabetes goes hand in hand).. and that I shouldn't be too worried.. it doesn't have all the high risk complications that dental surgery did for my heart disease kitty (who had a much more extensive surgery and made it through with flying colours).. I said I know I'm an over-worried mommy.. but I can't help myself hehe..
Anyways.. it all sounds a-o-k to me.. I was pretty sure she was in good hands from the get go.. they've got the whole team lined up to take care of her..
All that's really left for me to do is take her in on the 1st..and argue about the bill afterwords (they always under-charge me.. drives me nuts.. ).. doesn't matter how many doctors they have doing the surgery (for Nova it will be 2.. 1 dental surgeon and her regular doctor).. they only charge me for one (sometimes none).. when stuff mysteriously doesn't make it onto the bill and I point it out.. "oh.. well it's always a great learning experience treating your special needs cats..".. yeah.. k..it says vet hospital on the sign..not tom and bobs discount animal services.. until the owner of the hospital (vet for 30 years and the dental surgeon) is driving a nicer car.. I'm going to keep arguing.
