Yikes! Pm preshot was 529....not believing such a crazy number, I tested again immediately, on the other ear, and got 440. Naturally, that's the one I posted. :roll:

Now I don't know if all the numbers could be that off. I'm using the ReliOn meter, which is my backup.
I've got another newer ReliOn, that I'll use for the next test.

Hi Barb, He's doing what he is famous for, I guess. Good idea to try the other meter. How long have you been using the present one? Perhaps you need to change the battery. Check them both on yourself and see what kind of readings you get.

Too bad the Wellness Chicken is all gone. At least you know that he likes it! Have a great evening,

ah checks... red? no worries - Mannie is headed there, or so he thinks, to keep you company. I hope you boys can find your way to the lower floors. Good Idea to check your meter. I've run into a couple of bad strips too - never a dull moment...
 
This seems far-fetched to me, but, a while ago, I noticed that Checkers' bg was higher after eating the cooked ground beef that he loves. I counted it as coincidence...but it happened repeatedly. I mentioned it in his condo once.

Today, he had a snack of cooked stew beef. Obviously it was not stew...just the plain meat, seared.

Now i'm really seriously wondering if it's possible that he is sensitive to something in beef.

Don't laugh, my son is allergic to some chemical in beef. Gives him stomach pain...an allergist found it, after a childhood of doctors telling me he was faking pain. He doesn't eat it, of course, but I'm still wondering if it can raise a cat's bg.
