So far so good. She is healing up nicely, not digging at herself anymore and the sores are no longer open and raw. Just a couple of small scabs now and some "bald" spots, but her hair, i mean fur, will grow back.

We went back to the vet this past Wednesday and she said Tink looks really good, one more week of Clavamox and that should do the trick.

NO STERIODS! Thank goodness. Clavamox & lysine and that's it! YAY!

I and the vet think this was an allergic reaction to s/thg and since I did not see Tink get into anything we are going with the assumption that it was the Frontline, since that was the only thing different in Tink's space. The vet said next time to go with either Advantage or Revolution. & I think I will keep Tink away from everybody else for a while when I do this b/c I suspect the allergic reaction may have occurred from her licking it off one of her buddies during a mutual grooming session.

Thanks everybody for all the input on my other posts. I did ask the vet about crushing the Clavamox -- someone here mentioned reading not to somewhere -- but the vet said it was okay to do so as far as she knew, & that's the easiest way to give it to Tink, crush it and stir it up in her Friskies, so I'm still doing that for now.

I am glad Tinkerbell has made some progress. My cat Nomad is prone to skin problems and infections. Sometimes I can find the cause and other times it literally appears overnight. The infection comes in when he starts scratching or rubbing up against things. So far I have avoided steriods; If it ever got really bad I would comsider it but I know it would raise his BG.

If you have the time and money they can test Tinkerbell for allergins. In Nomad's case, he was diagnosed with Flea Allergy Dermatitis. He also broke out when I used one particular floor cleaner. Unless this happens to Tinkerbell again, you might want to try and figure out the allergy source yourself and save $$.

Poor Tinkerbell. I can still imagine those pictures of the sores on her face. I am so glad they are healing and almost gone.
I think it does make sense that if she were allergic to the Frontline that she got the outbreak from licking and grooming her friends in places where they couldn't reach (on the back of their neck and head). You're a good Tinkmom, Desi.
