141 is under 150 i know not ideal but still under...yay
im feeding now then have to go out and will try to be back by +3 very latest +4
i fed a combo of salmon and seafood feast 4% and 3%
i thinking it was the food< squeaky i'm dancing over here, finding my mojo (or at leas trying :razz: )
please please send low number vines this way, for ruben and me. gotta be honest the prospect of going back to work and shooting is not a good combo, strokey mcgee will be my new nick name ..jk lol :razz:
kk gonna go meet my friend for brunch,gonna work real hard on being ok with that. i hate leaving his little side. oh i love him so.

I, too, would like the answer to that question that Libby posted. I'm not sure if you work during the weekend, or not. Would it be possible for you to get a later midcycle test during the day, like +7 to +11, to see how Ruben's doing between those times?

not positive, but i think i rolled over and think i remember seeing him eating about 20 min b4 my alarm was gonna go off, i'd say 50/50 odds. i will tho def do that today and see, i just can't say for sure if he ate, i was fast asleep and then when alarm went off i got up and pulled up food. im ok with delaying the party, but really hoping its the food he seems really good. all 5 p's in place!! my friend is running late so i will probably only be able to get a +4 insead of +3

If you're testing at 10:30 to call that your AMBG, then wake up between 7 and 7:30. Pick up any leftover food from overnight and give him a tbsp or two of fresh stuff. Put it right in front of him so he'll eat it. It's fine if you don't stay up long enough to pick that up. It's not much and it's ok if he nibbles it until you get up.

It's more important that you put down fresh food at +9 than that you pick it up. We WANT him to eat then. Usually even for a cat that free-feeds, they'll eat some right when you put out some fresh food.

This is important because his AM numbers right now are too high to be OTJ. I know you don't want to give insulin, so we're trying to find a way to get those numbers down without insulin.

And to add to what Libby said, you don't need to get a test between +7 and +11. That really won't tell us anything at this point. But it is important to closely follow Libby's instructions.

so im gonna do the same thing today, right? pick up food at 7-730 put down fresh (1tbsp) then test at 1030pm? im gonna test a little early, cause the day plans got screwd up and now were going for lunch so i wont be here for a +4 so gonna test now. then post.

+98 oh thank you jesus, mr.p is working, i have to leave now i've made my friend wait as long as possible. will be back by 5pm my time in order to pick up and give fresh by 7-730

Let's talk in terms of hours from the AMBG, ok? So you just need to be sure he gets a tbsp or so of FRESH food at +9. Then test at your normal PMBG.

jus gave him about 2tbsp of fresh food, he ate about 1tbsp but then did this swallow thing and then began to cough.....gulp? just hoping maybe the food went down the wrong pipe, but he's being very clinging, more than usual, weird
fingers crossed, trying not to borrow trouble... :-|
ill post pmbg, should i pull up the tbsp thats left in the bowl?

thank you sienne, i thought it might have been ok to leave it down but since he walked away and seemed done, i just wanted to make sure.
i feel like i need to double check everything all the time. i hate what this is making me become but i also know i have control of me, which is frustrating, but its like at this moment in my life is one big mess and ruben holds the key. im uber sensitive lately and my mind races all the time nailbite_smile . i really think i need help on controlling my anxiety (not meaning meds..yuck) just action steps to take to make me use the skills i do know. but do not have health insurance to get the help i think i need. i know being needy is an unattractive quality and i apologize for it. there are a lot of people here who needs everyones eyes more than me. i just feel like all my love i have is in this little being (which i know is not healthy) but he is my mood altering substance, i don't drink or do drugs...i do ruben :oops: lol either way i truly am working on it even if it doesn't seem like it.
depite this crazy pants rant i am thinking positive and trying to be productive by cleaning and going out, something i couldn't do even a week ago. i love you all here very much.
taking it one day at a time and really trying to smile and dance along the way, i can do this and so can ruben. we can be examples for each other.

almost a whole day in healing numbers, i will repeat this process tonight. test at +3 pull food up at +9, put out 1-2tbsp fresh food and test at ambg.

Almost there, c'mon Ruben you can do it \M/

I did a similar feeding schedule with Honey during her OTJ trial.
I changed my testing time so I could get up, make sure she ate and then test 2 hours later. I did the same in the pm.
Her numbers remained green pretty much all of the time after that.

Ruben is doing so great - you must be thrilled, remember the first few days??
