Yesterday's Thread

So we have a green pre-shot this morning. I'm not sure if I should shoot this morning or not. After reading and researching about elevated Kidney levels and acute kidney injuries yesterday, i'm so unsure about everything now. I can't tell what is going to be an influencing factor anymore. And I also wont be home to monitor him today.

I also found some clear foam spit up this morning. I'm going to assume that is a result from being super low this morning. Overall, I just feel very hopeless today but Kai act okay today and is eating.

When did he last eat? The clear foam could be from acid build-up from an empty stomach if there has been a long gap between meals.
Not eating could also have caused his numbers to keep dropping.

Has he eaten now?

The last time he ate was at +4 last night. And he is eating good this morning. I just checked him again and the food has bumped him up to 78.

BTW, I just saw your post from yesterday about his kidney levels and the surgery etc. I am so sorry you are going through all this. Why does the vet think it is AKI and not CKD? Are you a member of Tanya's CKD group or the FB group on CKD? They have a wealth of experience in CKD and help you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

No I'm not, I did come across Tanya's CKD group last night and was reading on it a bit. I will look into it and the FB group more today.
The vet said she dosen't believe its CKD because the ultrasound did not show kidney's that presented obvious signs of CKD. She said that his Kidneys were smaller but they weren't miss shaped or anything. I beleive that's how she phrased it yesterday.

I have 2 hours before i leave for work. And Yes, he has his auto feeder. Should i give him the full 2.5 units? What do you think?
Yes, you can give the full 2.5U. He might just head up. Don't feed any more now. Test again at +1 and feed higher carbs, if necessary.

Maddie, I was trying to keep your thread clear yesterday so you could get some advice. This must be so overwhelming. I’m sorry. It’s strange the varying responses on the mass, I hope there are some steps you can take for some clarity.

Nice pre-shot meanwhile :D

He had a nice little blue/green surf this morning and yesterday a.m., as well! Brava to you on shooting that green! No matter how many I shoot, they always make me a little nervy.
