Have you ever given her Sacromyces Boulardii? That can stop diarrhea. Take a peek at this link and scroll down to find the SB part. Look about 1/3 of the way down the page for the paragraph that begins with:

For cats with IBD (especially when diarrhea is present), the addition of a yeast-based probiotic, Saccharomyces Boulardii is an important addition to your cat’s diet given the way it functions in the intestines and its anti-inflammatory properties.​

S. Boulardii is what has allowed by daughter to stay on antibiotics non-stop for years for the Lyme disease without another recurrence of C. Diff. It's really great. I hope it helps Eleanor. We buy ours at a local health food store - I buy the Jarrow brand. You can open the capsule and add it to her food.

sounds like the thing Julie mentions would be another good one to add.....

I know you just got the metronidazol and clay....

now the tall order is the patience....
waiting for signs that something is working....
