I'm really loving all these blues and greens. Today Cinco seemed a little droopy, so the DH and I agreed perhaps some fluids were needed. He doesn't seem to be drinking as much, and his pee output has decreased somewhat. He was less enthused about his fuds today than normal - only eating about half of each of his two breakfasts. So I woke him up a little while ago and hauled him into the torture chamber (otherwise known as the downstairs bathrooom) and hooked him up, with a small dish of chicken baby food under his nose. He grunted when the needle went in (I'm still not very good at this), and was okay for a few minutes, but only ate a little of the baby food and started fidgeting. We were about half-way through when he got really restless and he ended up dislodging the needle. I decided to call it good and got the puddle on his back wiped off and the needle covered and administered his pred drops, then let him go. Strangely enough, he seemed much perkier after that - went and sat at the open sliding door and sniffed the outdoor air (through the screen), then wandered around awhile before heading for his hidey hole. When I went to check him for his +6 reading, he grumbled, but let me do it, then came out and wandered around some more, even allowing me to give him a good brushing, which he hasn't done in a while. Maybe he just needed a little shaking up, so to speak. So he only got about 50 ml of fluid, but I think that was enough for now. I don't want it to have too much influence on his BG, anyway.
Other kitties doing well - no new carpet spots yet today. Harvey is done with the AB (as is Cinco), but I'm still giving him the Forti Flora in the capsules, since he takes them happily and I figure it can't hurt.
Gotta go get my work out in before getting cleaned up to accompany my DH to a doctor appt.
Sending healing vines and hugs to all in need, and many prayers of thanks that Ole came through his trauma last night so well. :YMHUG:
P.S. As I was proofreading this post, I heard Cinco hollering, so I went to see what was up. He was sitting in the middle of the living room, hollering for no reason in particular (like he used to do ). When I asked what was wrong, he got up and wandered around the room, eventually climbing into his litter box, where he deposited a nice, stinky poo. I was all set to praise him when he climbed out, walked a few steps, sat down and proceded to drag his butt across the carpet!!!
Guess I should have put "anti-jinx" after my post about spots, huh? :YMSIGH: At least now I know why he wasn't very hungry. He was full.
