She's done it again and is bouncing from last night's 106 and 109 Blues. I am reluctant to raise her dose. 15U insulin has gotten her to green a lot, and the blues last night were almost greens. I'm hoping that as the herpes and pancreatitis settle down, she'll stabilize at 15U. Of course, predicting her insulin needs has not exactly been my forte'.

She has that nasty herpes virus again. That's why her appie's been off. Started doxycycline, and gave her cypro. The cypro worked wonders. She ate quite well, all night.
I am positive that she hit green last night, and began to bounce off it early this morning. She's still bouncing.
Unless she surprises me , 14U Insulin seems to be adequate. I hope she stabilizes, and even goes down. Between the pancreatitis and the Herpes, it's not wonder she rose so high.

That darned Herpes! It drove me crazy with my cats!!! They didn't much like it, either.

I'm glad the Cypro helped. I was so grateful for it many times.

TiTi does seem to be liking this dose. Now if we could just manage to keep the door to the trampoline room locked...

The mirtazapine would have helped, too, but it was so nice to have an alternative that would not make her hyper-active - particularly right before bedtime. :eek:Her appie's back to ravenous now, and she's not needed any more cypro. I am however, maintaining the cerenea and the antibiotic - cerenea for the pancreatitis, the antibiotic to ward off any bacterial complications from the herpes. It has been my misfortune to observe that this particular strain of herpes causes URIs in all my kitties. Mikey usually develops pneumonia. What a nasty virus it is!

And yes, it's driving me bananas as well:banghead:.
