His appy was a bit off again this morning, but of course, now that we are waiting until his PMPS test, feed and shoot, he is asking for food and acting like he is starving! :roll:

@julie - Zener was not able to sit on punkin. I think they were both holding onto to the same bunch of balloons! Paws crossed they both get back to earth soon!

@Serryn - our lastest snow is melting so Zener will be back out in his favorite backyard poo places. Inspector Poo will be back on the job! :lol: I don't know what is in the air with these kitties lately. We thought Zener was clearing his bounce, but maybe not...

@Karrie - we emailed our vet about the cisapride and she prefers to use it with kitties with IBD and megacolon. Zener does not have either, so she wants us to try the Zantac and stay with that and the miralax for a bit as long as he is eating and pooping on his own. We go back again in a couple of weeks for a recheck.

Was shocked to see his +11.5, first test was 88 so did another strip and got 96. Holy moly. He didn't eat all that great today. Poor guy is begging for food, but we are going to wait for another 20 minutes and test again. Will stall if we need to.

We were feeling real nervous until we went back and looked at his 2011 SS and saw where we shot a 96 on the alpha trak meter once. :o We used to be more brave. :lol:

It's Friday night with no getting up for work in the morning, plenty of strips, HC, syringes (in case he decides to not eat), and all the supplies we need to keep Zener safe, so we went for it. Maybe he won't be at this dose much longer.

Shoot low to stay low! Nice job, Anne & Liz (you too, Zener). Enjoy your evening with your tools of the trade: strips, lancets, HC, treats, etc. etc. Don't forget the cat!

Thanks everyone for your kind words about our baby Zener. He still had blue eyes when we adopted him, was about 5 weeks old. It was true love at first lick. cat_pet_icon

We were a little nervous at +1 when he was lower than PMPS so pulled out the karo. We are trying karo with his regular food rather than the 17% carbs because it is so hard to get him back on his medium carb food after the really good stuff. We'll see how he does now without any karo until his next test. nailbite_smile

Baby Zener is way too adorable, such a sweet innocent face. I am still in my pjs even though it is lunchtime so I am ready for a pj party with you. Hold off on that karo unless he hits 50 ladies, don't lose your nerve and get tempted now :mrgreen:

I dunno -- I think Karo is a very reasonable substitute for gravy. I either honey or Karo with Gabby all the time. She loves gravy but it can give her the runs. Knowing how finicky Zener can be, if a drop or two of Karo mixed into LC food works, that's fine.

What great numbers. Nice shooting and pretty green!

He's still just as cute as the day he was adopted! What a direct gaze that boy has -- I love it.

Good luck with Z tonight. Mookie has bounced up into the 400s this evening, so I won't be needing to stay up late. :YMSIGH:

@Serryn - yes, please join us for an around the world PJ party, no matter what time of day, it's all about the PJs. ;-) We get a little nervous when there isn't a bit of a food spike at +1, as that usually means action for Zener. We just aren't used to these flatter cycles in lower numbers and envision him dropping 50-100 points in an hour, like the old Zener. :shock:

@Sienne - we learned about the use of karo with the regular food from you and Marje. Zener will eat the fancy feast turkey with gravy 17% and it doesn't seem to give him liqui-poo but it's so hard to get him back on his MC food after the need for HC passes. So, it seems to work better if we don't change his food much. We gave the honey a brief try because of the better glycemic index but it did not seem to have much effect, though the semi soft treats we give him if he gets too low, are like magic and are full of honey. We are so glad the PMPS green was on a Friday night instead of another Monday morning, and loving these gorgeous greens! :mrgreen:

@Karrie - I can't wait to tell Zener his picture is making his LL aunties squeal! :razz:

I'll be testing again in an hour and see how the numbers are looking. Watching lots of bad TV and drinking black tea is the order of the evening. :roll:

Like Kelly Slater Zener just like Kelly Slater. In case you don't know who that is:

Kelly Slater has been crowned ASP World Champion a record 11 times, including five consecutive titles from 1994-98. He was the youngest (at age 20) and the oldest (at age 39) to win the title.

We're pretty proud of him over here :-D for a comparatively small country (population wise) we produce some champion athletes.
