PMPS 267 so shot 1.6u
+3 190 (Poopy asked to be tested...wanted that chicken chunk)

AMPS 231 so shot 1.5u, Poopy so hungry he was hoovering crumbs from PM (Mia is a messy eater and always leaves crumbs outside the bowl that dry up). The dogs love it if they make it to the floor. ;-)

Since I fed their obvious least liked food, I expect to see the PMPS higher and food left over. There's something about the balance of food and dose I just can't quite put my finger on. When they eat the food, even if snacking all cycle, the numbers end up being pretty darn good. When they start turning up their nose at the food, the BGs climb. (I'd think it would be reverse - less food would mean extra insulin and lower numbers.) Can't wait for Carl to have better access to see what his scientific mind thinks of it all. :-D

Any other takers?

Morning Teresa, ~O)

I do think you are on to something. When I first started this dance I had Jax on a strict 2x a day feeding. He was hungry all the time. Sue mentioned to me that perhaps I should leave out frozen during the day, etc, etc. Well I tried it fully expecting to see a high PMPS and lo and behold the number came in lower than it had everbeen. I became a believe in that very instant.
Now, I have also seen the reverse...if I miss his eve snack he goes too low and then I suffer a rebound. It is a delicate balance, that is all I can think of but perhaps others will chime in on their experiences.

Now, on to The Poopster...nice AMPS!

We originally made our numbers a bit better (amps specifically) by feeding a snack mid way thru the night. Jury is still out if it is helping us now, but I still do give a mid day snack and a snack around 2-3am. Mostly because you know cats, if you do something once, it is instantly a habit

I also feel like we are in an experiment with our overall food reduction. Initially, less food seemed like it meant less insulin and better numbers for us. That lasted about a week. But we got into this bouncy gig because of going too low, and now it is going to take some time to find out if indeed that is true (I really think it is).

I think this is an ECID thing. Some people free feed and that works great for them. Some people feed a 5 ounce can per meal and that works well. We just can’t do that. Asher would be the size of a house and on a lot more juice.

Nice looking AMPS, Poopy!

 I don't know what that's like for Hershey - he's a like a teenage boy and will eat whatever doesn't eat him first! Now, Oreo...

I have no idea about the food/numbers correlation; we try to keep the food (amount/time) consistent, but his numbers still aren't.

Hope you're feeling better and y'all have a GREAT day!

This is what I mean...kitty eats less than normal/expected and BGs drop...presumably because there is now more insulin than necessary...right?
On the flip side...kitty eats less and BGs climb...unexpected since should have more insulin than required which would lead to lows.

There has got to be a balance between the food and insulin. I think I got magically close last week when the food was kept the same (before the mutiny). I also don't think it is specifically tied to carbs - at least not solely carb levels.

I just feel so close to figuring out something. Grrrr.

I still haven't figured out the food but I know it impacts shakes
If he doesnt snack he will go too low
so I am a free feeder!

nice moring you had though!
hope you had a great day!
