Just checked Paisley's +12 and it's way down. We're starting this all new as of 2/12 so don't have a lot of data. I'm not sure about the safety of giving her 1.5u. I crashed most of day from not sleeping much lately so missed + 2 and +11. Suggestions on dose?

Another issue... I forgot about the winter farmers market which runs Saturday 9:30am-12:30pm. Shot time is 10:30. Well, shot time is getting later as it's 10:45p right now.

Re: 2/17 Paisley AMPS/345 +6/210 +12/130 Dose ?

Since you're not sure where she's been I would recommend stalling to see where she's going. When was the last time she ate?

Re: 2/17 Paisley AMPS/345 +6/210 +12/130 12.75/126 Dose ?

Meant to put that in. She last ate around 4:45pm EST, 6.5 hours ago. When I checked her +6 everyone ate. They're eating Friskies Special Diet LC.

The 130 and the 126 are pretty much the same number, so it looks like Paisley is surfing right along. You can stall a little more, if you want, and are able to shoot at +12 (12 hours after you shoot tonight) tomorrow morning.

Re: 2/17 Paisley AMPS/345 +6/210 +12/130 12.75/126 Dose ?

I can't shoot until 12:45pm tomorrow. So I'll go ahead and feed everyone and give her her shot at 12:30am. I'll just pack up at market a bit early so I can bail at 12:30pm and only need 10 minutes to get back to where she will be.

Thanks.

Gave PM shot at +14. Fed a little at +13 and then more at shot. Have alarm set for every 2 hours.

You are a good bean Lylene :-D

Thanks. This gets so frustrating sometimes though. Her +2 was 413 so I guess I can cancel the every two hour check. I'll check at +6 and around +9 (right before I leave for farmers market). If it's a bounce, which I think it is, she generally clears them quicker than most cats.

I want so much to get her regulated. Maybe being ill was what made her BG go all wacky, not the insulin. Obviously the insulin is working. Now that she's getting better, maybe we'll get back on track. I was surprised the vet wanted her on L-Lysine for 30 days. She does seem to be perking up a bit. The acne is clearing up.

The dilemma I have is that the auto feeders are plastic. Didn't have any problems with acne until I started using it. I'm going to take the food tray to the thrift stores to see if I can find something glass or metal that will fit in the food tray. They get all kinds of weird stuff there. The 5 meal feeder is going to be a bigger problem. Haven't used it yet. The 2 meal has been enough so far. Might have to go custom if I can't find something. Maybe ceramic or a light pottery. There is a glass blower but that would likely be too expensive unless he takes pity on a poor diabetic cat. We have a lot of very creative artists around here so I'm sure someone can come up with something. Something else to add to the "to do" list. :YMSIGH:

I wonder if just lining the feeder with foil would do the trick?

Yay for some unbroken sleep.

Oh aren't you the clever one!!!!

And that would make for some pretty quick clean-ups too!

I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. Definitely clever. Definitely affordable. You're hired. Will have to give it a try when I'm going too be home. btw... Do you do windows?

No sleep. Well, maybe 30-45 minutes. Too much pain in my knees. Maxed meds. Made sure to wear shoes even to go from bed to bathroom and back. That helps but not always enough.

Looking like this is a bounce. She doesn't need to go real low to bounce. It depends on what her body is used to being. I've verified that on myself when my BG has been high and drops, even if the number at the drop is still considered high.

Aside from a thrift store, there are a couple of other places to consider when looking for something that will fit inside the feeder. I'd check at any Asian gift shop or place where they sell Asian bowls. Often the small bowls for dipping sauces will fit. Also, if you can find glass food prep bowls at a kitchen supply store, chances are they will fit. The headache with the latter is often they are in sets of nesting bowls. Rather than a place like Williams Sonoma, if there's a kitchen/restaurant supply place, you may have better luck with finding small, glass prep bowls.

Sienne, Thanks for the suggestions. You must live in the big city. We don't even have a mall. Seriously though, that's why my first thought for odd stuff is the thrift store. I'll check GFS but I don't remember seeing anything like that there. I do miss those kinds of stores and the ethnic restaurants. When I get far enough downstate I hit every ethnic place I find. We do have lots of pizza places and bars. Welcome to da UP, 'eh.
