BLUE was the color of the day yesterday. SWEET! Mannie had a great day - surfed the blues all day long... What a change from a few days ago, and I think that perhaps so far this dose is a good one for him. We seemed to have bounced a little this morning - up to 367. Blech: pink! Mannie? Maybe we can repeat yesterday?

I am on a mission!: De-mat the cat: much to his dismay :? ... and horror :shock: ... and general crankiness :-x ... and hissy-pissiness :twisted: ... but we shall win this war, and that tail, aka the pom pom, aka the shedded fur collector, shall be mat free. So far?: Bean 2, Mannie 23. I need to re-think my strategy.... Mannie is his usual furry purry self this morning, for test, shoot, food. I had to drag him from the nanner pile though to do these tasks. It always cracks me up when he hooks at least one nanner and we head off to the testing spot. :lol: :lol: Poor nanners, maybe he thinks they need testing too. :roll: :cool: :-D :lol:

Mannie and I send healing vines for our sick kitties. You are in our thoughts.

Yuck on the pink bounce, but that'll clear soon. He was beautiful in blue yesterday. :-D Looking for some nice low blue surfing today. :smile:

Michelle, what do you use to groom Mannie? My little Clancy doesn't get matted, but he has longish, silky hair that gets tangled easily.
He also gets ummm, cling-ons, occasionlly, on his pantaloons.
I have to shave around his personal areas. Although he is very good about it, the shaver is noisy, and he runs, the instant he can.

I'd like to find a quieter shaver....any advice?

I really laughed hard at the picture of Mannie dragging a nanner to get his pokey and shot :lol: :lol: :lol: Hope you win the war; Mike always tells me "you gotta be smarter than the cat" however I believe my cats were all Albert Einstein types in their previous lives and I was Forrest Gump :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hey Mannie....what's up for today? My daddybean and me are TIRED after all those pokeys but I got gravy!!! Let's do something relaxing but it's cloudy here and gonna rain...wonder what Tess's greenhouse is like today?

Morning Sienne - so agreed - we to are so tired of this pink... wish I knew what to do to eliminate that color. :lol: :lol: me and all the other beans out there.

Hi Lisa - it is comical - he just doesn't want to leave the pile, so he figures might as well bring some of it with him.

Morning Angela - I sure hope so - it was indeed a great day yesterday.

Hi Barb - on the groom thing: I have two "tools" that I use - Zoom Groom, and a regular comb. For the most part I have no issues grooming him - he loves the zoom groom. the tail however is a whole different matter.... he really doesn't have one. what is there is very short, and a corkscrew, and full of very long fur, and looks like an over-sized pom pom. It mats extremely fast and very easily as all the excess seems to collect there. I have to do that area by hand, no way can you comb it. :roll: It is such an ordeal for him - he really hates it. and yes on the klingons on the pantaloons. :lol: I too shave him there - it is the only way to keep that area "tidy". If you find a quiet shaver - let me know. The last time I had the vet do it, as he was there for another issue - the UTI.

Morning Marjorie - OH YES!! This would be me.... I am not winning this war, but the front line advances in very small steps, one mat at a time...

Moonie has a cat bed that has 3 cushions--When I occassionally pick her up from there she clings to the cushions which become airborne like her!! She holds on for dear life :lol: :lol: :lol:
Finally she will drop, when she sees she wont win! :mrgreen: --These kitties are a gas!@

It's not "manscaping", in Mannie's case its "Manniescaping" HAHA. Bad joke I know. Ok boo me off the stage. Yah yah.

Sorry the thought of shaving his legs made me laugh. I do have to trim Maverick's back hair - he just can't groom the six inches on his back from tail up and hates being brushed there.

Manny, is your bean stressing you out dematting you? Is that your excuse for the stinkus pinkus?

Having 5 long-haired cats, I take the path of least resistance. Only one really mats but is us a small amount of vaseline rubbed into the mat. It works. Waif, the stray has a georgeous coat and he keeps it very nice. He is constantly grooming and if he finds a mat and can't work it out, he just pulls it out himself. Love finding them.

Nice run yesterday for Mannie, but turn right around there Mannie. That's far enough, Tess doesn't need rescuing any more. Good luck on the mats. Tess loves to e brushed, BUT NO TOUCHING THE TUMMY! They each have their own privatspots.

NNo! No! Mannie don't come for me! It was scary up there and I'm coming down. It's not nice here even, but the greenhouse is always warm. All kitties welcome, but my neighbor may try to crash the party meeting. He thinks everything is his since I don't got outside now. cat(2)_steam -- Tess

Thx Barbara - I shall give that a shot. It wouldn't be such an issue if the tail was "normal", and not a 5" (if it was stretched out) corkscrew. Love the story on the stray. Mannie says to tell you that it an affirmative on the stress issue. :lol: we are making progress: bean 5, Mannie 24

Hi Ann - Mannie does too, for the most part. Before FD he would ask for it, not too sure why now he doesn't. weird. But the tail is a no no - a gloved hand no no.

Hi Karrie - manniescaping: :lol: :lol: i like that. I actually don't mind the shaved look - he's a dark cat,, but that area is cream colored - it actually looks good shaved. not too sure he thinks so, but I win that war.

Hi Roni - too funny on Moonie. Mannie has a fleece bed he uses when he's not busy with the nanners. it's the same thing there. I go to grab him and he hooks the bed too. Too funny!

TESS _ sweet - lets meet there - Rusty likes it there too. hey did you hear???? Moonie and Copper caught soft shell crabs - YUM!!! and they are bringing them to the party - they have been cooking all day. SWEET! ok on the neighbor - we will take care of him. :cool: are you sure you don't need a rescue before we come over? I can bring the rope in the roadster - remember how? ~~ Mannie

Hi Christie - yep, the de-matting is FUN! oh sure.... one at a time, and he doesn't fuss too bad. :roll: I am so glad that it is only the base of his tail. :-D so days there are none, others are like: where did all that come from?

Hi Ann - headed done some, but so far not too bad... i thought for sure he was on the move - it has turned out so far to be a slow one.

Hi Marjorie - that it is. part of me wishes it was green, the other part thinks this is ok, might get a green dip, but ok. and THX too on Melissa. I do miss her.
