Good morning,
Happy Caturday everyone.
Ivy had a very lovely am cycle blue and green in Libre yesterday. Last night was mostly blue after onset.

Her appetite seems a little less the last few days.
At dinner she didn’t want to eat her meal.
I got worried so I threw out her food and prepared a second batch in case it was “off”’somehow.
She had never done that before (I make her food).
Second batch she did eat. So I could give her shot.
Then she didn’t eat her first snack at +1 last night from the auto feeder.
When I encouraged her to eat it about 1/2 hour late, she ate most of it (it’s only about 1.5 tablespoons per snack)
She did eat the next 2 snacks last night from auto feeder.

This morning she didn’t completely finish her meal. I encouraged her to eat the balance at +1 then she ate her snack also.
So not sure if it’s her not feeling well somehow. Or something about her food, which she is always happy to eat.

No diarrhea and no signs of nausea. No lip smacking. No meatloaf position.

She is drinking a bit (not excessive).
Will watch closely of course.
We will be heading out to dinner tonight at just before +1 and will feed 12.5% meal and snacks to keep her a bit higher while I’m out.
Just hoping she eats her snacks from the feeder since she’s being a bit fussy or something….

There’s always something to worry about…

Snowy morning on the East coast. Here’s a snow covered predawn look of snow in case you have none.

Have a great weekend all :cat:

I love that you make her food! I'm thinking of going to a place locally called Woodys Deli and they make pet food. Just meat with vitamins.

I get it... just when one thing is working something weird can happen. Tweety will be very picky if she's not feeling great, but then I'll quickly switch flavors or just get a new can/less supplements added and she'll eat. Go figure.

We're going to dinner as well tonight and are hoping for good numbers too so we can actually relax and be present.

Enjoy your day and dinner! :bighug::cat:

I know what you mean. since I make her food and she eats a novel protein, I can’t just switch to something else. I make her food in batches and freeze it.

And she can’t just eat something else. So it’s a bit harder than someone who can pull out a different flavor in a can.
But we all have our challenges.
Enjoy your dinner out!
FYI, I use an automatic self feeder so that well I’m out for a few hours. Ivy can get her snacks from the feeder that way. Hopefully she won’t dive and can still eat.
*If you don’t have a self feeder you may want to think about it.
It’s very helpful if you have to be out of the house for a few hours :)

Best wishes for Ivy getting her appetite back, Staci!

Your photo is lovely. We had a bit of snow here in Montreal yesterday, during a mostly snow-free winter.
I'm currently selling my house, so I was able to put out the deck furniture for viewings ;-)

Tweety was on novel for about 2.5 years and slowly we got back to beef, turkey, occasional rare chicken or fish. She was only able to eat rabbit, venison and lamb for a while.

We have auto feeders but also another pet who is CRAZY with food. She'd beat her up and take it off we were not watching. No joke. So we'd have to put Tweety in another room which She'd hate.

For now, giving her snacks before we go is working thankfully! Plus, I'll be working Thursday to Sunday 12-5 moving forward starting next week. So, I'm going to have to consider dusting off the old time feeders! I could give Lacy the greedy cat her time first to distract her and then Tweetys maybe 1 minute after. I'll think that through!

Anyway, could you make two batches? A batch of rabbit and a batch of something else to freeze so she has options? I'm guessing that's a lot though. Sending you all hugs.

Good morning Staci,
What a beautiful view!
Snow is nice, so long as I don't have to go outside! :);)

Sorry to hear about Ivy's appetite. Is she acting normal otherwise?
Maybe she ate something she shouldn't have, or hairball issue?
Hope it resolves quickly.
I does upset me greatly when my kitty shows less interest in food :nailbiting:

Hope you and Ivy have a nice, relaxing, cozy-inside kind of day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

She’s only on one novel protein so we know that it’s working. She’s been eating lamb for about 3 years If I recall correctly.
(She used to eat chicken and salmon.)
The recipe is formulated by a veterinarian nutritionist so I don’t just wing it. Makes it harder to switch it up :(

Good luck with the feeder situation! It’s always a challenge to figure out how to handle.

Sorry to read she's not eating well. Could it be that she's less hungry when her numbers are lower? Just an idea.
I hope she has a calm day, she's starting to get low already :bighug: slow down, Ivy.

Good morning, Staci -- that's a gorgeous photo, so peaceful and calm.
I've been experimenting with LID/novel proteins for Chispa, without much success. We started with rabbit but she grew tired of it within a few weeks, so I switched to LID turkey, but I'm not sure it's different enough from chicken to be effective. I wonder if it's time to start making her food. Who doesn't enjoy a home-cooked meal, after all?

Hi Lara, thanks for your good wishes! Good luck selling your home.
I hope you and Lu have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks Cecile, hoping she is back on track soon! Never need this kind of stuff.
Maybe she is less hungry. Plus there have been workers in the house all week. Could upset her. Who knows!! Wish she could tell me :)

Hi Karen , thank you. It is a serene setting. It’s pretty in summer with all the flowers and bushes blooming. I love lots of colorful flowers.

It’s great you’re experimenting for Chispa. At least you’re trying different proteins to see what she likes and doesn’t like so that’s good.
Ivy seems to really love her home-cooked food. I’ve been cooking for her for many years and she’s really never had a problem with it. We’ve been very lucky.
But, it does make it a little tricky. If she doesn’t want to eat, the one protein I make, what the heck do I give her then? Nothing is easy is it?
Hope you guys are having a great weekend.

Hi Kit, thank you. I agree. I’m happy to look at the pretty snow. I just don’t wanna shovel it. I’m staying in today taking care of Ivy. Will only step out this evening for dinner. So happy to be inside.
Good point about the hairball I did notice this morning that she did pull some fur, which she is known to do, and then puke it up. Maybe that makes her feel a little off.
Plus as I mentioned there have been workers here all week and who knows if that isn’t bugging her. They’re still here today. I feel like I’m living in a three ring circus these days and it’s not ending soon. I have more work being done through next week. Wish they would all finish and get out of here already :(
Hope you guys are having a relaxing Caturday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's gotten cold here again, and if it's gonna be cold, might as well have some snow (we have none). Snow at least helps trick my brain into believing that maybe I need to go out in more than leggings, a tank top, and a thin hoodie.
I'm glad Ivy saw some lower numbers today. And I hope dinner is fun tonight! We might go out since we didn't go out for valentine's day. Or maybe we'll just pick up Chinese and eat in while watching a movie.
Scritches to the amnimals. :bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci :9
Sorry to hear Ivy is not eating so well. I wonder what's happening. As you say, always something to figure out..
I'm sure you'll find out! You're such a guardian angel for Ivy.
So lovely to have everything covered with snow. Does Ivy respond to colder weather by sleeping more and eating less? Fistuk does. All he wants is to sleep under the duvet :p
Enjoy your dinner tonight. Happy to hear you'll have a lovely night out.
We're going out for a pizza tonight.
Sending warm hugs:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Alicia. We are headed to a restaurant that I haven’t been to in a while and I really have missed. It’s a little bit farther from the house and since I wasn’t giving higher carbs and she was diving, I wasn’t willing to go quite that far.
Now that I’m doing higher carbs for date night and have the remote feeder set up, I feel a little more comfortable that I can administer higher carbs to her quickly and easily, so we’re gonna give it a shot.
I hope you and Eric have a fun night whether you go out or stay in.
Hope Kit cat is feeling well after her vet visit yesterday and surfs safely through the weekend :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, enjoy your pizza night out. That’s always fun. We tend to bring Pizza in on Sunday nights as our routine.
I do hope I can figure out what’s going on with Ivy and eating. I’m hoping it’s a temporary blip and not a big problem. That I do not need.
She did have a hairball this morning so maybe it was related. And she did have one the other day too. Plus all the commotion in the house??
Ivy tends to pretty much sleep all day long if I don’t bug her and if I let her just stay in her bed in her room.
On days where I’m home and working, I try to bring her upstairs into the kitchen where I am working and just have her hang out where there is action and noise. She then tends to be more awake. Sometimes she will just sleep on a blanket in the sun up there and she does like it, but given her own ability, she’ll just stay in her comfy bed and snooze all day. Can’t say I blame her. I definitely wanna come back as a cat in a home where I’m very spoiled, just like Ivy is

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Big hugs to all of you
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Big old bounce to pink later in the day today +9, +10 . Guess she had to do that after going lower this morning and getting some ear pokes. :spam:

This is the same dilemma we are facing with the autofeeders and 3 cats. Purrl is the food-hoover and pushy one and needs the bigger snack. I'm still mulling it over and haven't bought any feeders yet, but I'm close! Our cats all eat in different places, so that might help with training. If you come up with any inspired ideas, Teya, I'd love to hear them.

Sorry I blathered on about feeders on your thread, Staci. I hope Ivy's appetite picks up. I so appreciate your detailed info on the daily happenings with Ivy, too. It's very helpful!

Will do! Re the feeders! :)

I hope Ivy is eating well tonight too, Staci!! We're heading to dinner now and I'm going to force myself not to watch the Libre! Have a great dinner out.
