Hi Sandy, I'm ready to go in about 10 minutes. Have just tested Crystal and she is now eating. I have the R dose at 0.5u ready and her Lev separate. Her numbers have been quite good (by her standards) and in the yellows most of the day, here they are (SS up to date)

AMPS 346
+3 299
+5 279
+7 265
+10 286
PMPS 292

I'm here too today!! :-) Get to see all the action.

I wouldn't worry about that +1. It's probably from the food, and pretty much the same number as the 292.

I'm peaking in too. Paws crossed here. Nice yellows today. :)

I saw some of the questions on IAA/acro combo on your last condo:

Like Suzanne said, IAA doesn't break all at once, just rather intensely. If feels like you are going on a very fast roller coaster ride. We have a couple of "tricks" to help keep the cart on the rails. Safety first, always err on the side of caution is the main rule. Neko did her fast ride down starting in August of 2012, right after/during her SRT. Marilyn/Polly is still in that phase. If you are interested, I have links to other spreadsheets of kitties whose IAA broke.

+2 = 302

Hi Suzanne & Wendy, glad to have you here, nothing too exciting to report at the moment but the night is still young! I would like to see those other SS Wendy, but can you post them to me under a different condo, perhaps in a day or two, otherwise I will get bogged down in detail here. Nice numbers from Crystal in her AM cycle today, over the last few days she seems to do better in the mornings for some strange reason. I'm looking but I don't see a pattern emerging to my untrained eyes. Let's hope for a better number in an hour or so.

I am watching while answering some of your questions - no worries - (I'm a very slow typer )

In answer to one of your recent (yesterday) question is a 'feel good' story -
The crisis that precipitated our use of R was the development of ketones. You can see our first R trial on 06/23/2008/PM cycle. The ss illustrates how quickly ketones can develop to dangerous levels. He went from 'negative' to 'large' in 24 hours. He had been hospitalized just about a month previous (05/23/2008) for DKA and was very frail.
It was a desperate situation.

Jojo suggested R and told us it was available without prescription in most states. Thankfully Maryland is one of them and we located a 24 hour pharmacy (it was the wee hours) and DBF hopped in his car and soon returned with the R. The first shot was .5u and the we gave it as soon as DBF got in the door which was +3. Worries about coinciding nadirs didn't apply to the situation - BK needed more insulin - fast. Although for the following 2 cycles we were as aggressive as we could safely be, BK was fading. We could not afford another visit to the ER and hospitalization so we planned to take him to the vet as soon as their office opened. It was to be a one way trip. We were crushed.

Cries of "Nooooooo" were being posted. As is happened, there were 3 other members in the Baltimore/Washington area who made recommendations for veterinary hospitals in the area. The LL community of the time banded together and convinced me there was still hope. The next morning BK and I were off to a specialty hospital over an hour away, where we were met by LL member D(Noisy). While we were en route to the clinic something very special was going on in LL The virtual hat was being passed around. The result of that spontaneous act of generosity defrayed half the costs of what was to be a 3 day stay. It was the start of what was to become todays LLEF.

We went from 'crushed' to 'take no prisoners' after that. It was clear we had to be far more aggressive, which we did. In a few months BK was one happy and kooky kitty, with all Ps firmly in place. With the appetite of a human male teenager, his body soon filled out and all remnants of frailty disappeared.

What a lovely story Sandy with a happy ending thanks to the unbelievable generosity of members here and a what a difference in his photos. You and BK are an inspiration to all of us here struggling to keep our kitties safe and well and proving it can be done. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Serendipity?

It's quite possible that, following her longest run of yellow to date, Crystal was starting a bounce which by chance coincided with the timing of the R and the R is keeping her from climbing to the 4th floor (or beyond). . .
Being that this is only the second shot of R and the first R at .5u, it's hard to say - once you have more data the picture will be clearer.

Yet another important use for R - taking the bite out of a bounce.
(I'll elaborate on the benefits and pitfalls later)

eta - see you at +4

+4 = 308.
It's pancake day here in France and I think Crystal has opted to be as flat as a pancake! I've just given her a couple of teaspoons of her LC raw mix, rabbit for a change tonight, tested Ketones (negative) and she's also done a nice normal poo in the LB. She wants to go out so I think it's safe to let her out for a little fresh air and report back in one hour.

+5 = 319.
All a bit ineventful I think but useful for gathering data. Will try to stay awake for a +6 in but fading fast. Many thanks to Sandy, Suzanne and Wendy for keeping a watchful eye on us. Would be interested in your comments/thoughts on tonight's experiment when you've had time to mull it over.
