Hi all! I'm running late so just posting quick. AMPS...well at least they are yellow instead of the red and pink last night :? Seems to be recovering from the vet visit. Chyna is still purring but hiding from her bean in that cupboard after shots and pokes...I'm hoping she gets back into the routine soon. She's good sitting there and eats her treats, just runs away after  Had a big poop in the box, peeing and eating. She does cry when I pick her up sometimes, and her bones feel crackly sometimes too...arthritis acting up? I know I crackle sometimes. Not sure if the vet will listen to me on the Adequan thing...I can try again. I keep getting ignored and have no time to harass when they are open

Yesterday: Chyna 12/16

Thanks for visiting after bedtime Marje and Michelle, and for your nice words:) Hope you all have a good day, if it's slow I will try to visit condos from work...if not I'll see you tonight :-D

Re: 2/17 Chyna AMPS 279

Morning Rachel ~O) ~O) ~O)

WOO HOO! Chyna is yellow. :-D Much better little one, time to leave those other floors behind. No need to run from the bean, you miss out on cuddles then. I too hope Chyna will bet back into the routine soon, I am sure she will. Good luck with the Adequan thing, should you decide to pursue it. I hear it does help arthritic kitties. I know a few too that have gone the acupuncture route, with much success.

Have a great day today, I hope all goes well.

Much better AMPS this morning :-D
Good WCR on Chyna this morning and hopefully she will get back into the swing of things and come out of the cupboard ;-)
Have a great day Rachel!

Re: 2/17 Chyna AMPS 279

That's a better start Chyna. Keep coming down little one. And don't hide from your mama, she wants to give you the loves and snugs :-D

Re: 2/17 Chyna AMPS 279

It's nice to see that yellow this morning. Hopefully Chyna will get used to the testing again soon.

Re: 2/17 Chyna AMPS 279

Good to see Chyna in yellow this morning. Yesterday was definitey a stressful day for her and you! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

Are there any other tests I should ask for, since they did that blood draw?

I don't see that anyone answered this yesterday. Since they took blood i would ask for a full blood panel, senior panel if she is an older cat. (Unless you just had one?) Most vets can run a panel there and have the results in a day. Also is it possible that it could be pancreatitis? Did they check for that? Sorry, I'm not up to date on what you have already checked out for Chyna.

As for the urine analysis, again your vet should be able to check in house to see if there is an infection. It has to be sent out to determine just what the bacteria is so they can choose the right AB. Our vet will do the in house check and if there is no sign of bacteria present will save us the money on the more expensive lab test.

Re: 2/17 Chyna AMPS 279 PMPS 225

Sorry guys, I tried to visit a few condos at work but didn't get to everyone, or to answer mine, people kept coming in with work for me :? I guess that is why I'm there

Lowest PMPS since we started back on insulin :-D

-Michelle, thanks, she seemed to be a bit better tonight. She was waiting in her ear test spot...but I think that was cause she was hungry as right before that, I had "the look" at the dish a few times  She knows fuds and treats follow poking. I don't think acupuncture would do well unless they do home visits...poor scared kitty to leave the house

-Pam, thanks, it is a better number! Supper was all slurped up. Mean bean bought TP tonight...so no cupboard cat(2)_steam

-Kim, I sure do try to give loves to my non cuddly kitty! She tolerates it but prefers to be close by for scritches rather than squashed. She did come down a bit:)

-Carla, it was nice to see yellow (although blue and green are better!) :)

-Ann, thanks. We did just do a blood test a few weeks ago when BG started going up:) They didn't think she had signs of pancreatitis...and when I asked all they said was urine had to be sent out as they didn't do anything there with it. Other than check for glucose in the urine, which showed none at the first visit time (since she peed her carrier  ) I guess it was a random question on the drive to the vet wondering if there was something to test for in blood that we hadn't ;-) The vet really wanted to do a fructosamine even after I said no what would be the point he drew blood in case I changed my mind? All that would show me is more glucose numbers, and I already know it's gone up and she needs insulin  ...plus I'm broke, broke, broke. Thanks so much for the advice:)

I have changed her meals some, to have the majority of them earlier in the cycle (as before she liked to do early nadir) and light meals at +6 and +9 (only a 1/16 can mixed in water and binder) just so she has food in her tummy to keep that acid down from the CKD. So she is looking for food when I get home pretty fast! I feel bad but I'd rather keep her safe since I can't be home to monitor and don't get lunch until her +6...I've got to go call my mom and then do subqs. Will try to be back later to visit condos! Hugs!

Great to see the progress! Hey Chyna, that yellow is very close to blue - come on down!

I'd be surprised if a vet was unwilling to go the cartrophen route. Gotta be a money maker for them and it does seem to produce good results.

Re: 2/17 Chyna AMPS 279 PMPS 225

Thanks Wendy. I got told there was nothing that could help for a kidney cat even when I mentioned the ones you guys said, and I was so worried about other things I forgot to bring it up again. She seems to be walking a bit better, maybe the upped dose of cosequin will do it...will see. I may have to call and argue :o

I'm so sorry if I missed anyones condo today, I tried to hit as many as I could but I am bagged and have to start bedtime ritual. Hope you all have good zzz's!

Much nicer numbers for Chyna tonight, and happy to hear she was out of her hidey cave waiting in her "spot.' Baby steps each day :-D
