Well, it looks like the honeymoon may be over

I spot checked Trixie last night and she was at 153 so did another check at +2 and again this am. I am SO upset and disappointed. My hopes is that this is something transient but my gut tells me no. She is otherwise doing well, playful, purring, eating well. No increase in drinking or peeing.

I’ll continue with spot checks over the next few days to see what she does. If she stays where she is would I just start with .25u?

Hi Tim, nothing I can think of and I would think she would have come down on her own over night if her pancreas was working properly.

She managed to bring herself down almost 60
points on her own so that tells me her pancreas is producing its own insulin. Just have to see what kinda numbers she sees over the next few days.

During that last vet visit, did the vet take a look at her mouth/teeth? Needing a dental is one of the more common reasons for falling out of remission, should that be what you are seeing.

Anything else stressful in Trixie's life? Any opportunities for sneaking carbs?

Hi Wendy, the Vet did have a good look at her teeth/mouth and she had no concerns. Said it all looked good aside from some tartar/plaque. That was what I was thinking too. No stress that I can think of.

She made her way back to green tonight so maybe she did sneak some crumbs somewhere yesterday??

I’ll keep checking her am and pm for the next few days to keep a close eye on her.
