And I was planning to bring her dose back up this evening because the reduction clearly wasn't working...
No vomiting, okay poops, eating on her own.
Eleanor's weirdness yesterday cost me my utility bill money. Which is not funny at all, I'm not sure why I'm laughing.
I bought new Ketone test strips and opened them up yesterday morning when I caught Eleanor's urine in a jar. Poured a bit out onto a strip and got a reading of ketones. Repeated. Yep, ketones between small and medium. Hard to tell since the pad on the strip is shades of beige and the chart is pink to purple, but it was quite a change. Paced around until the vet clinic opened, called the new vet, the receptionist said, "If she had ketones she would be reeeeeeaaaallllly sick". She said they could get me in the next day. So I called the old vet, the receptionist told me to bring her in and they would work me in.
Saw the vet right away, he checked a sample from my jar, no ketones. I rechecked on my strips and yeah, small to medium.
How can this be?
Ended up having labs done, which is what happened to my money. Vet called this morning, no ketones, everything looks good except her wbc is 22 and should be below 19. Wants her on 3 weeks of antibiotics, then recheck. We just went through this high wbc thing last August.
